Look what I found growing by the side of the road. Correct me if I’m wrong but this not 💀 growing strong and healthy where cars speed by. Of course I took a cutting. This is one of the most poisonous plants in the world. It’s native to Mexico and some species to south east Asia and China! How did she end up here in the growing on my dog walking route.

It’s almost that time of year again! Last year I made some wild 🌹 Rose and elderflower cordial (it was very good with sparkling wine)
Elderflower holds a rich history of both practical and magical uses. Traditionally, it was valued for its medicinal properties, particularly in treating colds and fevers. Beyond its medicinal uses, elderflower is deeply intertwined with folklore, representing protection, transition, and the realm of the supernatural.

Spiders web 🕷️ British spider webs can be categorised into seven broad types: orb, sheet, tangle, funnel, lace, radial and purse. Some spiders build new webs every day. Other spiders repair their damaged webs. Most spiders aren’t big on wasting their silk material and some will even eat their damaged webs so they can recycle the proteins into new webs.

Walking / stumbling down one of the narrowest streets in Europe. There is even a traffic light. It’s sandwiched between two buildings on U Luzickeho Seminare Street and is only 70cm wide. 🚦 I do not recommend Prague if you struggle with stairs.

To my surprise I found this growing on the Beach near my home. This is Bitter Sweet also know as woody Nightshade. Solanum dulcamara
This plant has been used in folklore and herbalism since ancient times. The plant was used medicinally and to induce altered states of mind 👁️ The plant was also used in the Middle Ages to protect cattle against the evil eye by hanging it around their necks.
As beautiful as this plant is with its juicy colourful berries and purple stems it is highly poisonous.

My first time growing 💀🌱

Aconitum, also known as aconite, monkshood, wolfsbane, devil’s helmet. Aconitum is a plant containing aconite, a highly toxic alkaloid found in the roots, stem, leaves, and seeds. Aconite acts by blocking the sodium channels in excitable tissues in the myocardium, nerves, and muscles resulting in tissue depolarization.
