I'm a Mum of one, who lives in Broadstairs on the Kent coast, with a passion for decorating and upcycling. In September 2017 I bought a workbench and power tools and having installed them in the kitchen, I set about making re-imagined items for my home. I really enjoyed working in my "kitchen workshop" finding new ways to use familiar glass, metal, wood and paper objects which may otherwise have ended up in the bin. Although there were a few grumps from the family when I managed to throw sawdust all over the vegetable rack, it was fun. I sold a few items on my local Facebook selling groups and Shpock and Ebay, but a chance meeting at friend's gallery encouraged me to keep creating and I have now opened an online shop via Mademe.co.uk

My client had two fitted wardrobes, large chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, dressing table, mirror and stool which were perfect for a makeover.
Once again I used a mock up to help with paint and pattern selection and we settled on Snowdrop from - a crisp bright white, with a satin topcoat for a little more shine.
The blue hydrangea fabric for the vanity stool and matching cushions really pulled this fresh and pretty floral look together.

Delighted to report that sales are going swimmingly with around 30% of pieces already sold. Loving the red dots! The exhibition runs until the end of October. You can chat to a board member any afternoon as well.
So... if you are visiting Ramsgate for the events this weekend, why not drop into to see this exhibition too? 100% recommend the art, great coffee and cakes.

This commission project with it's coastal theme was really fun. Working in the client's Arts and Crafts period home was a privilege in itself. I love the craftsmanship and attention to simple detail typified by this period.

Westgate Galleria where I sell my smaller upcycled home decor pieces introduced me to clients Stuart and Louise and our shared design project began. Having just moved to Westgate on Sea they wanted to inject some coastal vibes into their dining room

With a dining table, 8 upholstered chairs, a dresser, sideboard, corner unit, candle holders and a mirror to makeover, it was my biggest project to date, but they love it!

And I still love Fusion Mineral Paint UK ❤️

I came in to invigilate the "Postcard From Ramsgate Exhibition" at Plunder on Sunday afternoon to find my mixed media collage has been sold!

I nearly cried.

Featuring sand and cockle shells from Ramsgate beach with mosaic tile waves and fabric starfish, it was out of my comfort zone while still "upcycled" at ❤️.

100% made my day seeing it sold - thank you!

One of the
board members will be at the exhibition every afternoon throughout October. Drop in for a cuppa, browse the art and fnd out more about our plans to establish the community gallery for the benefit of Ramsgate.

We all know change is a good thing.
But totally changing the look and style of 8 chairs is a really big thing!

With 8 chairs to reupholster, sand, prime, paint and seal this commission project was so worth it, though.

The dark stained oak is now a soft white chalky finish in Casement, perfectly complimenting the new seashell upholstery.

Happy furniture painter, happy client x
