Why Do Knowledgeable People Struggle to Narrow Down What They Know?

You know a lot. You have different skills, experiences, and areas of knowledge.

Now, you’re thinking about building another income stream from what you already know.

But suddenly, a question comes up:

“Which part of what I know should I actually build from?”

And that’s where the struggle begins.

One of the biggest reasons people struggle to narrow down their broad knowledge is the fear of choosing wrongly.

You start asking yourself:

What if I choose this area and nobody is willing to pay for it?

What if I focus on one thing and later discover that another part of my knowledge had more potential?

What if I invest my time and energy in the wrong direction?

So, instead of choosing, you remain stuck between different possibilities.

But here’s something worth understanding.

Narrowing down isn’t about choosing randomly. It’s about making an informed decision.

Think about travelling to a new country.

When you understand where you’re going, the climate, and what to expect, you’re better prepared to decide what clothes to pack.

It’s the same when you want to build an income stream from what you already know.

Before deciding which part of your knowledge to focus on, you need to understand who you want to help, what problem you can solve, and whether people are willing to pay for that solution.

Clarity about the direction makes choosing easier.

You don’t have to build from everything you know.

You need to identify which part of what you know is worth building from.

And that’s exactly the problem I help people work through.

I’m OgeSpeaks, and I help knowledgeable individuals who feel stuck between different ideas examine what they already know and choose one clear direction worth building from.

If you’ve been struggling to decide which part of your knowledge to monetise, check the link in my bio to see how we can work through it together.

Knowing a lot can make narrowing down harder, not easier.

When you’ve gained knowledge, skills and experience across different areas, it can be difficult to decide which part of what you know is worth building something from.

You see possibilities everywhere. You know you have something valuable to offer, but the challenge is figuring out which part deserves your time, energy and attention.

And because you don’t want to make the wrong choice, you keep moving between ideas, trying to figure out which one will work.

But here’s something worth understanding:

Not everything you know needs to become a business, and not everything you can do is worth building a business around.

The goal isn’t to monetise everything you know. It’s to identify the part of your knowledge that solves a problem people are willing to pay to have solved.

That’s where having a clear direction makes the difference.

Are you struggling to decide which part of what you know to build from?

“I just want to know what to focus on.”

Sometimes, the problem isn’t that you don’t know enough. It’s that you know so much, you don’t know which part deserves your attention.

You have the knowledge, skills, experiences and ideas. You can see so many possibilities, but you’re unsure which one is worth building something from.

And when your goal is to turn what you already know into a source of income, choosing where to focus becomes even more important.

You don’t have to monetise everything you know. You just need to identify what is valuable, who needs it, and which direction is worth pursuing.

That’s where clarity comes in. 🎯

Which part of what you know are you struggling to choose between?

THEN vs NOW! ❤️✨

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll remember when this page was filled with my cooking videos. 😂🍲

I love cooking, and I still do!

Up until February this year, I was sharing my cooking journey here. But something changed.

I got clarity.

I began to understand that just because I’m good at something, enjoy doing it, or have knowledge about it doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the direction I want to build my business around.

And that realisation changed everything for me.

Today, instead of sharing cooking videos, I use this same platform to help people who want to build something of their own from what they already know but feel stuck between different ideas and possibilities.

I help them find one clear direction worth building from.

The beautiful thing is that I haven’t stopped loving cooking. I’ve simply become clearer about what I want to build and what I want to be known for.

That’s the power of clarity. It doesn’t take away your other gifts. It helps you decide where to focus your energy.

So, to everyone who has been here since my cooking days, thank you for growing with me. ❤️

And to those who are new here, welcome to this chapter of my journey!

You don’t have to turn everything you know into a business. You just need to discover what’s worth building from.

With love,
OgeSpeaks 💜

My Sunday Reflections: A Journey of Awakening and Self-Discovery 🌱

These past few days, I’ve been in a reflective mood, thinking about the kind of year it’s been.

For me, this year has been a year of spiritual awakening, self-discovery, and unlearning things I once thought were fixed.

Growing up in a Christian home, my understanding of God and spirituality was largely shaped through the lens of religion. But this year has opened my mind to a deeper awareness of consciousness, life, and the way things unfold.

One of my biggest lessons has been learning to move from “By Me” to “Through Me.”

For years, I’ve been a doer. I believed that if something needed to happen, I had to make it happen through my own strength, effort, and determination.

But lately, I’m learning something different.

I’m learning to loosen my grip, recognise resistance, observe more, and allow things to flow rather than constantly forcing outcomes because I’ve set a timeline for myself.

I’m beginning to understand that not everything requires more effort. Sometimes, it requires more awareness, alignment, and trust in the process.

Even the way I see social media is changing. I see it as a space to share my thoughts, experiences, and knowledge. If something I share brings clarity to someone, helps them make a better decision, or positively impacts their life, then I’m grateful to have been a vessel through which that value was delivered.

I certainly haven’t figured it all out. I’m still learning, unlearning, growing, and becoming more conscious of why I do what I do.

And perhaps that’s the beauty of the journey.

Growth isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about becoming more aware of who you are and learning when to act and when to allow.

So here’s my Sunday question for you:

Have you ever experienced a season in your life when you realised that you needed to stop forcing things and start allowing them to unfold? What did that season teach you?

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts. 💜

Today marks three years since I left Nigeria for the UK. It’s been an up and down journey, but today I just want to pause and say thank you. Thank you for the people I’ve met, the lives I’ve touched, the places I’ve seen, and for love. For finding The Bowlerhat Farmer (Mark Byford) , for his family, and for everyone who’s helped me along the way. I’m still learning, still growing, but today my heart is full.

Which of your skills has the most potential? 🤔

Just because you’re good at many things doesn’t mean you should try to build a business around all of them.

The real question isn’t how many skills you have.

It’s which of those skills solves a problem people are willing to pay to have solved.

And that’s where many knowledgeable people get stuck.

They have the skills, knowledge and experience, but struggle to decide which one deserves their time, energy and resources.

Remember, not everything you know needs to become a business.

The goal is to identify what’s valuable, who needs it, and which direction is worth building from.

💜 You don’t need more skills. You need a clear direction.
