Lately, I’ve been working with so many wonderful clients who simply want expert guidance to breathe new life, cohesion, and harmony into their existing spaces.
So, how do we actually achieve this? I guide my clients through a very specific, stress-free process:

💫On-Site Strategy Design Consultation: We start with a 1 to 2-hour deep dive in your home. We evaluate what is working, what isn't, and how we can best utilize your existing layout and beloved pieces.

💫Digital Design Concept: Based on our scope of work, I build a complete update scheme. You receive beautifully curated digital designs showing how all the pieces will come together, along with highly detailed specifications for every new piece of furniture, furnishing, and decor detail needed to elevate the space.

A recent client had a fully furnished home, but they were stuck between two very different aesthetics: Glamour and Industrial. The styles were fighting each other! To tie these together into a stunning, cohesive „Moody Luxe” look, we focused on clever additions in their open-plan space. We added elegant new wall paneling in the dining room and designed a beautiful built-in unit concept to seamlessly connect the dining and living rooms. This built-in also created a perfect visual bridge to their open-plan kitchen—which they weren't ready to change just yet! By updating specific pieces, shifting wall colors, and professionally styling the bookcases, we made Glamour and Industrial work together in perfect harmony.

What an incredible week that was! For the first time I welcomed my Year 12 work placement student into the design studio, and I am absolutely overwhelmed with joy.

It was a deeply rewarding and fun experience for both of us. I loved every single minute of teaching, sharing my industry knowledge, and passing on my passion for design to such a bright, driven young woman.

To top it all off, she completely melted my heart with the sweetest little gift on our last day yesterday. I am starting the weekend feeling so inspired and immensely grateful! ❤️

Welcome to a home designed for absolute joy! 💫💛
At Alwa Design Studio, we firmly believe that accessible design should never have to compromise on style or colour.

This deeply special project involved designing a vibrant, happy home for Holly, a young beautiful lady, as well as creating beautiful, restful spaces for her dedicated carers and visiting guests.

We moved entirely away from the traditional, clinical look of accessible spaces and instead embraced rich, mood-boosting palettes and contemporary furnishings.

Here are a few highlights from the design:

✨ Seamless Flow: Every layout was heavily considered to allow wide, clear pathways—like the beautiful gallery hallway so Holly can navigate freely.

✨ Vibrant Living Spaces: The living and dining rooms are flooded with natural light and joyful pops of mustard, vibrant blues, and magenta.

✨ Chic Shower Room: Designed for carers and guests, featuring deep green and matte black tiles with brushed brass fixtures.

✨ Smart Tech: The home features automated electric blinds and smart doors, giving Holly independence at the touch of a button.
(Beyond the photos, the property also boasts Holly's master suite, a smart kitchen with a hidden utility door, a therapy room, and a sanctuary garden!)

This home is a true testament to fantastic teamwork. We provided the comprehensive creative vision, detailed moodboards, within-budget shopping lists, and two on-site consultations. Our incredible clients took it from there, project-managing and executing the vision entirely themselves to bring this colourful sanctuary to life! 👏

I am obsessed!! ✨ The first image is the rendering and the other two show the real Media Unit in the Family Room.

It is so heartwarming to see the progress of a project and the true ex*****on of the design plans. But let's be real, this isn’t easy to achieve when you are doing it alone without a professional.

Working closely with an interior designer during the project management phase does more than just translate plans into reality. It saves you lots of time, overall stress, and money! 💸

Often, the subcontractors executing the project have their own views and perspectives.

Even companies you hire to make an exact unit from the plans might introduce their own ex*****on style.

They might choose a different colour or shade, or make little changes that impact the overall design.

Unintentionally, they end up providing their own design ideas, which often have nothing to do with the rest of the room, its function, or the original look designed on paper. 🤦‍♀️

This is exactly what happened to my clients!

They quickly realised the company they hired to make their custom media unit wasn't listening to the design story we had already confirmed.

My clients decided to return to me for additional design assistance during the build. Together, we got it back on track and achieved a media unit perfected for their needs.

This time, we made sure the colour, the finish, and the exact look aligned perfectly with the 3D renderings! 🛠️🤎

Swipe to see the 3D render first, followed by the real-life ex*****on! 👉 Let me know what you think of the final result in the comments!

When my client first bought this house, it had all the perks of a new developer build, but it was completely missing that alive and comforting energy. It was a great blank slate, but it felt cold.

If you’re familiar with my work, you know my whole approach to interior design is based on healing. I don't just want a room to look good on camera; I want the space to physically bring your heart rate down and filled with joy the second you walk through the front door.

To give this house some soul, we completely re-imagined the ground floor to focus on warmth, texture, and energy flow.

1. We have a mix of overhead lights and soft, ambient lighting - from the warm amber pendants in the kitchen to the backlit media wall and shelving.

2. We introduced in natural woods, rich velvets, marble and ribbed glass to make the rooms feel grounded and inviting yet elegant and luxurious , rather than sterile.

3. Adding the floating console and the floor-to-ceiling mirror in the hallway completely changed how natural light moves through the house.

4. We went dark and moody in the downstairs toilet - powder room with black marble and a gold vessel sink to create a quiet, grounding and relaxing space.

It was a great process taking this from a standard white-box new build into a home that actually supports my client's well-being.

Walking from your hallway into an open-plan living room shouldn't feel like stepping into a completely different house.

When it comes to the living area, the TV or media unit usually steals the show. We’ve all seen a million ideas online, but nobody actually wants a copy-and-paste living room. It has to work for your family's specific needs and feel like it belongs to you.

I had a situation recently that really reminded me why having a designer in your corner matters so much.

My client and I had spent weeks getting a bespoke media wall just right. We went back and forth on the layout, making sure it ticked all their practical boxes and carried the same relaxing vibe from the hallway right through the open-plan space. We got it signed off and handed the drawings over to a joinery company to build.
When they came back with their plan, I couldn't believe it.
They had completely ignored the brief. They scrapped our carefully planned colours, changed the layout, and threw in those wood slat panels that are absolutely everywhere right now. They didn't look at the room as a whole or consider the client's actual lifestyle; they just designed what was trendy and easy for them to build.

A lot of companies can build a great cabinet. But if they don't take the time to understand you or look at how the rest of the house flows, the final result will just feel out of place.

This is a huge part of my Healing Homes approach. You have to look at the big picture while getting the small details right. You can't just drop a heavy, generic piece of joinery into a room and hope it works, it throws off the energy of the entire space.

Swipe through to see what I mean about designing a hallway and living area that actually talk to each other.

Swipe to see the magic! ✨ Can you believe this is the same house?

We completely reimagined this dated, compartmentalised layout into a bright, breathable open-plan dream.

Out with the heavy wood cabinets, beige carpets, and tile floors... and in with calming sage greens, seamless herringbone wood floors, and that gorgeous floral feature wall! 🌿🌸 We even added a living green wall to really bring the outdoors in.

My favourite part of this project? The "After" photos you are looking at are actually our 3D renderings.

We create these hyper-realistic visuals for my clients so they know exactly what their new home will look like before a single wall is knocked down or a single piece of furniture is ordered. No guessing, no stress, and no expensive mistakes.

Are you struggling to see the potential in your current layout? You might not need to move; you might just need a new vision.

Whenever I set up a space, even just the corner of my office I'm thinking about how it feels, not just how it looks.

If you look at the details behind me, the textured art, the warm tones, the organic lines of the stems, they aren't just background props. They're intentional choices meant to bring a sense of calm and grounding into my workday. That’s really the heart of my 'Healing Homes' philosophy.

Before you choose a wall paint or coverings, lighting, furniture, and curtains for your windows, take a moment to think about how they will affect the overall light in the room. How will they change your mood at different times of the day? How will they tie all the little details together and, most importantly, make you feel?

It is so easy to go with the flow and follow your excitement when you see a fabric or wallpaper you love. However, before making a financial commitment, especially when it feels like everyone is trying to sell us everything, it is wise to stop, relax, and think it through.

If you find yourself needing help, ask a professional who knows how to seamlessly pull colours, fabrics, textures, and feelings together to make you truly happy in your own space.

We offer a wide range of flexible services, customised entirely to our clients' needs:
✔️ Office Consultations: our most budget friendly option to sit down and chat through your ideas.
✔️ In-Home Strategy Sessions: we can visit you in your home and talk strategically about any spaces you are currently working on.
✔️ Detailed Design Services: we can dive deep and handle all the specific design details for your rooms from start to finish.

AI can give you a look. An interior designer gives you a feeling.
Technology is an amazing starting point for inspiration (we use it too!).

But creating a truly enjoyable, relaxing, and safe space requires more than an algorithm.

It requires our Healing Homes philosophy: design with intention for your wellbeing.

AI doesn’t understand:
* The ergonomic support your body needs.
* The physiological calm of the right colour temperature.
* The psychological safety of intuitive spatial flow.
* The scent of a healthy home.

Use AI to dream. Let an interior designer help you heal.

I’m so incredibly proud to share the visuals of ground floor remodel and extension, a project that truly speaks to the heart of what I do.

Guided by a Feng Shui brief and my "Healing Homes" philosophy, I reimagined this space not just as a house, but as a sanctuary for the soul.

In our busy world, our homes should be the place where we don't just be, but where we truly heal in present moment.
