The Air Balloon | Bristol | Greene King

We are delighted to share the completed refurbishment of this Flaming Grill project, The Air Balloon in Bristol. The venue has undergone a complete transformation, with a reconfigured layout and upgraded back bar bringing a bold new look and feel.

The brand’s new finishes bring it to life: a feature shingle wall, bespoke fixed seating, a large media wall, striking black and white tiling and dark ceilings.

It’s fantastic to see the finished result so well received and the place so busy!

Joseph Pierce | Edinburgh | Star Pubs & Bars

Set within a prominent Category A-listed building on Edinburgh’s Elm Row, Joseph Pearce is a Star Pubs & Bars Just Add Talent (JAT) site that has undergone a £280,000 refurbishment, bringing a fresh approach to this established neighbourhood pub.

Rich colours, decorative wallpapers, layered lighting and characterful furnishings sit alongside the original bar, balancing contemporary touches with the building’s traditional character. New booth seating, banquettes and a lounge and dining area to the rear create a warm and inviting setting, giving Joseph Pearce a refreshed identity while retaining the character at its heart.

The Dockhouse | Brentford | Hall & Woodhouse

The Dockhouse, Hall & Woodhouse’s new all-day riverside bar and café at The Brentford Project in West London.

Part of a significant £1.8m investment, the design was inspired by Brentford’s dockside heritage and the building’s riverside setting.

We retained the raw, industrial feel of the space and introduced warmth through reclaimed timber, rich colour, planting, layered lighting and a mix of vintage and contemporary furniture. Local artwork and references to Hall & Woodhouse’s brewing heritage add personality throughout.

The result is a relaxed, informal interior with plenty of character, designed to sit naturally within its waterside setting.

We’re thrilled to announce the reopening of The Wellington in Boscastle for earlier this year, following a careful refurbishment. This iconic coaching inn, which has welcomed kings, poets, and so many others over the years, has been beautifully restored. Taking design cues from the history of Boscastle, which was an important port of the area importing timber from North America & Canada, and the horses were used to bring the timbers from the ships, up the steep valley hills. Both aspects of maritime history and coaching trade are used to inform theme & bric-a-brac interest.

The design takes its lead from the palette and materiality of the local landscape. Surrounded by natural slate in the cliffs & soft colours in the panoramic views of wild heathers and coastal bracken: dusky heather purples, rustic clay reds, burnt oranges and deep sea greens.
The soft colour palette is lifted occasionally with a bright pop of deep green or bright red providing a refreshing, contemporary edge.

From a newly designed terrace and dining areas to the thoughtfully renovated bars, restaurant, and rooms, we’ve worked hard to preserve the charm of this historic gem while bringing it into the modern day.
