It's not every day we have a prize-winning cabbage in the kitchen! We'd like to say a BIG thank you for this stunning donation made with the help of The NEW spotted Carlisle . It's been put to good use. For comparison, here's one of our standard cabbages feeling small next to the 20lber.

Our most controversial Whiteboard Wednesday yet? It was fairly unanimous from our volunteer team... what would you say 'scone as in gone' or 'scone as in stone'? Whatever you call them, most people agree that they are delicious!

We just wanted to say a big thank you to The Hadfield Trust for their continued support of our service and their recent grant of £1,694. Over the years, the Trust has awarded several different grants to us here - with this grant, they have enabled us to purchase new tables and equipment for our volunteers to use as they support us with food preparation and administration. We are so pleased to be able to provide suitable equipment for their important work. Thank you!

A little word on preparation... we had a grant recently to help with our food preparation (more details on that soon!) and it highlighted how important all the prep work is to our meals here. Our food is freshly prepared by our volunteer and kitchen teams on-site, ensuring freshness for all our dishes. At each stage, our meals are prepared with care and love... From peeling and chopping to cooking and delivering, we want our customers to have the best service!
