Paint Garstang 2026 🎨 another brilliant year! Lots of beeps at passing cars, family visits & it was actually really cold where I was sat!
I started sketching at 9.30am. I got my pencil work done, then line work. I had given myself til 11am for these.. after that the painting began.
Once my main colour was done it was all about the finer details and shadows. The shadows are what brings it to life!
Picture delivered to the arts centre at 3pm and then back for the presentation at 5pm. Where we found out so was this years winners! I have labelled each pic of 1st, 2nd & 3rd. As you can see there was some hard competition!I thought it was especially nice that the judge had bought chocolates for a further 6 artists to show recognition of their good work.

Brilliant day and another great turnout. Thank you Garstang Arts Centre 💜

I do love painting a lab 🖤 there was a time I was terrified of painting all black pets. But if you look close at the sleek black fur, there’s actually blues and greens in there. Lots of shadow and layers and you can created shape, even with one base colour.

This one we left a nice gap at the bottom as my customer wanted to put a lovely paw print of their pet under it.
