Hydroponics in space NASA and other space agencies have experimented with hydroponics as it will more than likely be one of the best options for growing food in space for future space missions to The Moon or Mars. With space having no soil and weight is a massive factor in launching missions from Earth. As hydroponics requires no soil and 90% less water, it is ideally suited for astronauts who may need to grow their own food for future missions. When I am growing my plants in the office or at home I love the fact I am doing the same as astronauts in space.

No weeding Without soil, you aren’t going to have to worry about weeding. One of my least favourite things as a gardener, is to look out the window to see more weeds growing after you have spent plenty of time and energy weeding the week before. With hydroponics, weeds won’t ever be a problem, so this takes away the chore that comes with raising plants.

One of the many great things about hydroponics is that you do not need to go out into the typical British weather to enjoy growing plants. They are idle for growing inside your home as you use a light to help them grow all year round. This gives you a harvest all year round regardless of what is happening outside. Enjoy growing fresh fruit and herbs in the middle of winter and the comfort of doing that while in your slippers.

Hydroponics use around 90% less water than growing plants the traditional way in soil. This is due to most of the water being lost in the soil and not absorbed by the plant.
Most hydroponic kits reuse the water and minerals minimising the loss of water ensuring the plants absorb most of it, the only loss is through evaporation which is very little. This is why hydroponics are a great idea for countries that struggle with high water supply. Also you at home can save on your water bill

We hope you all have had a lovely Christmas and New year. Many people look forward to starting the new year for a fresh start along with new resolutions to work towards. A great resolution is to spend more time in and around nature, this can be simply done with daily walks or even spending time in the garden. If getting out and about is hard for you, bring some nature into your home, being around plants can do wonders for your mental health. We ended last year by donating 10% of our profits to and will be continuing to do this as this is such an important charity that does such great things. The festive period can be hard for some people if you do need help please talk, don't bottle it up.
This year we are planning a challenge to raise more money along with getting us out into nature, we will let you all know the details once we have finalised them.

Everyone at Indopods would like to thank everyone who has been a customer or supported us in the last 12 months, we are truly grateful. 10% of all profits over the month (was only set up to do this from Dec) will be donated to and this will continue to do this. We hope everyone has had a great year and lovely Christmas. We look forward to another year building our brand and working with you guys.

Today is our official last day until the 3rd of Jan. But don't worry as we will be popping back into the office to process any orders that are done between these dates. We had a customer who has a young child who loves plants, nature and is wanting a hydroponic kit off Santa for Christmas. So with our kit our very own elf has written a note on paper that can be ripped up and planted along with some sweets. 🎅🏼
