Whisper Handmade Crochet

Whisper Handmade Crochet My name is Sharon. I live in Chesterfield with my husband and adult children, and the cat of course, making gorgeous items from yarn and hooks.

I have been making crochet items for about ten years and love everything about it. Yarn shopping and searching for new designs are so addictive. I rarely make the same item more than once so you can be sure your item is unique. I love a challenge and will have a go at almost anything crochet, except stuffed toys. Cushions, blankets, hats and scarves and, of course, baby cardigans and blankets. If

there is something that you would like and you do not see it on the page please feel free to message me and I will get back to you to discuss your ideas. For ready to post items, please go to my Etsy shop https://whisperhandmadeuk.etsy.com to see all available items. New stock is added regularly. Looking forward to hearing from you and helping you with your yarny requirements 🥰

First completed WIP of June and I love it - really light and floaty but great for layering ❤️

I saw something similar in a shop and decided to have a go at it myself. The shop item plus a similar pattern combined to create this.

I think June might be a busy making month 🤣 but 4 WIPs and a project in hand isnt too bad.

I will be releasing the summer items onto my Folksy and Etsy shops this week. Look out for the posts. Lots of cotton, some bright colours and some fab accessories coming soon ❤️🌞

Inspired by an item in a store I said that dreaded phrase "I can make that myself" 🤣🤣🤣

So to prove the point I am making it myself. Road trip crochet has to be simple but when worn this looks lovely

Finished pics soon 😊

The third pic shows the initial idea and I truly hated it. It did not give the feel I wanted it to. So it was frogged 🧶🐸

Pic 2 shows the new idea - mosaic crochet. The initial divider is complete and the first row of mosaic going in.

Pic 1 is what I wanted. A woodland look. Forgot how much concentration is needed for this to get the pattern right. I've frogged the next row 4 times because this isnt something you can fudge - it is so precise that one stitch can throw off the entire pattern.

Hopefully, by the time we get back from the south coast this should be well on the way and the pattern should be appearing nicely.

Have a good weekend - its gonna be a scorcher apparently 🌞

After yesterdays trimming session - and I lined the black bag - finally (only been on my to-do list for 3 weeks 😊).
These will be listed for sale in June (after a quick trip to the south coast) - perfect for summer and both lined and with closures to make sure your belongings are safe.

Just need some sunshine now 🌞

Yay!!! It's finished - well - other than a bazillion ends to weave in 🙄. Not my favourite job but it needs doing.

But it's light and floaty, and the perfect length for an early summer cover up ❤️.

The last photo shows the tiny amount of yarn left over - seriously won at yarn chicken with that one🧶 🐔.

There is a certain satisfaction in using a rotary cutter to trim a fringe and making it look uniform and the edges are perfect.

And yes - I was careful!! All done and no injuries 🤣 although I did get a doozy of a paper cut at the weekend.

After a really good tidy of some of my yarn - this is the naturals pile. It's got a really strong woodland look to it and there is enough for a star shaped blanket. This will complete the set of three that I'm going to make with stash yarn and then I'm going to do a rainbow one which should look fabulous.

Hope you are all managing to dodge the showers - they certainly come down with some force - especially the hailstones, but the lightning yesterday was a bit of an unexpected treat - I do love a good thunderstorm when I dont have to go out in it.

This is coming on nicely and surprisingly I found another ball of this yarn while I was tidying so I can make it a bit longer. Did I hear someone say I have too much yarn?? Hhhmmmm - you're probably right 🤣

So as you can see in the second photo, its nearly long enough. Not wanting it too long as its for summer evenings. Hopefully be finished by the end of next week.

Stay warm and dry everyone xx

Got to say this is the best laugh I've had for a while 🤣

This is supposed to be a pattern for a duster style crochet cardigan.

Looks like this scammer just thought f@@@ it that'll do.

I know AI is everywhere and it is getting harder to spot - the hands do have the right number of fingers here. But seriously - not even a head!!!!

AI patterns and images are not true representations of yarn crafts - the stitches are all wrong, the definition is off and the patterns really are not workable.

Etsy is full of it and Hobbii have said they use it for images to speed up the marketing process.

Stay safe in the knowledge I dont use AI - to be fair my photos are too rubbish to be AI and whilst my head doesnt always have a body, they are true images (thanks Hilda and Agnes - my head models ❤️)

Hopefully today will be a bit drier than yesterday - those hailstones were like golf balls hammering on the windows.
