A couple of woodcore scabbards for stock, both available to buy.
Will fit upto a 55mm wide and 76cm long, so Armourclass (amongst others)
One with swallowtail belts, one with buckle, both are suitable for 12-14th century.

One of those commissions where my experience making unusual leatherwork at paid off: a woodcore scabbard and belts for a Mongolian Cavalry Sabre!
Beautiful blade by Tim at Heron Armoury, it was challenging to keep the typical “curved” scabbard shape when the sword was pretty much long and straight with a kick at the end!
Matching pair of belts, based on surviving originals.
Will be in action in the coming months.
A privilege to make bespoke leatherwork work to fit a Heron for the Royal Armouries 🤩

Buffy is a creator of hand crafted scabbards and leatherwork, with a lot of film work experience: I was in-house armoury craftsman for the Witcher, seasons 4-5, making the vast majority of the scabbards from the production, including all the armies and most the key characters.
I also worked on the Lost King, Gladiator Two and recently made a bunch of scabbards for Highlander.
Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to share any pictures of most of them 🫣
So, here are some of my non-film, more splendid constructions.
Most of my scabbards are based on practical versions of historical scabbard styles, which, for the most part, were not tooled.
Having said which, I’m happy to create a blingy hand tooled scabbard, if that’s your preference, so here are a few pics of completed work.

So, I’m apparently in Facebook jail, though nobody can tell me why 🤷🏻‍♂️
To get out of jail, I need to post a few non controversial posts, so apologies if that’s exactly what I do 🤣
These are a couple of things I knocked up for myself this week, as my reenactment group are heading to Avencroft this weekend.
A small understated pouch, to go with my “understated” belt 😎 and a scabbard for a short riding sw…d
And the other item is one of my most popular selling lines at markets: a medieval case for a book of Hours to hang from my belt, to signify my devotions. Ok, so a mobile phone fits in it 😏
Happy to take commissions for anything like these, or just scabbards.
