Trying it a different way.Put the snake skin IN the resin, then pour.Because the skin will float & stick out of the back...

Put the snake skin IN the resin, then pour.

Because the skin will float & stick out of the back once cured, I've made a weight out of ply wood & covered that with some slightly holographic window film, to stop it curing to it. Hopefully it works, although it's causing it to seep slightly. Unfortunately that means there'll be no bubble management, which I'm slightly anxious about, but we'll see how it turns out tomorrow.

Demoulding the baby dragon.

Unfortunately this did not turn out how I'd hoped. The white has seeped in front of the snake skin in places, making it look like she's got leprosy!
It may just be my cynical mind, but I'm not happy with this.

God, that was tedious - but aren't they cute!
Next step is sealing the acrylic, attaching the earring hooks & putting them on display cards.

These will be £2 a pair, 50p of which will be going to the Southdowns PETS 2 VETS charity.
