we had some guests round today, so i decided to bake a sweet treat for them to have and take home with them (lost a whole half a loaf 😂). fall is coming fast to obviously i'm switching to more fall fruits - bring on the apples and pears!!

on monday, instead of doing my usual cooking, i actually took a trip to oxford for the foodie festival!! it was a lot of fun: i tried good food, bought baked treats, got some wonderful honey, and even got to see b*witched live!! wonderful experience, 11/10 would do again

trying to go back to my roots again and make a classic banana loaf - dad's favourite, obviously, and also very easy to make reduced/no added sugar!! it was very tasty, but unfortunately went dry very quickly, so back to the drawing board to perfect it 😔

earlier this week, the weather was absolutely lovely, so i decided to go plum picking! my local farm has victoria plums in season, so i picked plenty and used about half to make jam! surprisingly bright, unbelievably delicious, and wonderful on scones!! (11/10 would definitely recommend)

today i got to enjoy myself picking fruit at yet another farm!! this one is a regular favourite: is one of my favourite farms to visit and the variety of plums AND baked goods makes it an absolute place to go!! if you live in the area, or even if you're willing to travel, i would absolutely recommend making plum picking an activity to do!!

another cake made!! this time, i made a salted caramel layered cake, with a vanilla cake base and vanilla icing and salted caramel between the layers. and! a little salted caramel design on the top, which i think looked better after i left it in the fridge to set 😅 a successful order fulfilled, and a happy customer made!! 🥰

so last week i was sent a video on tiktok with the banana bread cinnamon roll recipe by in it and i decided i HAD to try it out, and my work colleagues were lucky enough to give them a try. honestly, absolutely delicious, and i cannot WAIT to try making them again!! (but maybe with blueberries this time!!)

soooooo much jaaaaaaaam 😋

over the course of a week, i got to do one of my new favourite summer activities: picking fruits and making large batches of jam!! i find picking fruits really relaxing (aside from the bugs 😭) and i get a kick out of picking more than enough fruit so i have some to eat alongside jam making!! this time i went to .blueberries and had a whole lot of fun picking, got almost 2.5kg of blueberries!!

(i would definitely recommend going there if you can!! it's a wonderful place, very relaxing, and the berries are delicious!!)

i used 1.8kg to make the jam, and now i have some left to use... maybe for blueberry muffins? or blueberry and banana loaf?
