We were called out to a property in Leyland after the existing LVT floor started showing some issues.

As you can see from the photos, there were large lines and cracks appearing through the finished flooring, particularly where the existing house slab meets the newer extension.

Once we uplifted the LVT, it became clear there were also moisture issues within the subfloor.

We stripped everything back and allowed the subfloor time to air out.

We then returned to the job and applied an epoxy DPM, followed by smoothing compound to create the suitable surface needed for the new LVT flooring.

Preparation is the most important part of the job — getting the subfloor right before putting a new floor down is essential. 💯

Next post will be the finished transformation… Herringbone LVT completed 🔥

The team has been hard at work this week, pushing through the hot temperatures to prepare the subfloors within a brand-new Clinical Skills Facility at a university campus.

This project involved:
Mechanically grinding away existing paint and surface contaminants.
Applying a smoothing compound to create a perfectly smooth surface ready for the installation of commercial vinyl flooring.

It’s great to be playing a part in a facility where future healthcare professionals will develop and practise their clinical skills.

Another quality floor ready for the next stage!

This job started with full floor preparation to ensure a perfect finish. We carried out fibre reinforced screeding to level the subfloor, followed by a 3mm smoothing compound to create a flawless base ready for installation.

The final result is a stunning herringbone design using Textures Sycamore LVT a clean modern look that really lifts the space.

Preparation is key with LVT and this one came out spot on from start to finish.
