Clevedon Craft Centre An Eclectic mix of arts and crafts in Clevedon. 🌟 Studios are independently run so opening times vary.

Please contact individual studios for opening times if you are making a special journey. Clevedon Craft Centre is situated on the outskirts of the Victorian seaside resort town of Clevedon, some 12 miles south of Bristol. Follow the BROWN Craft Centre signs from junction 20 of the M5 onto the B3130. We also now have Brown signs from the other direction taking you past the” Hand Stadium”. The studios and workshops are housed in the outbuildings of a 17th century Somerset 'long farm” which was once part of the Clevedon Court Estate. Clevedon Craft Centre is an all year round attraction with FREE parking. There are toilet facilities and disabled access to most of the site. The many and varied art and crafts provide an opportunity to purchase the highest quality original work directly from the designer/makers themselves, while still enjoying the quiet rural atmosphere where the family can feed the ducks and chickens or relax in the patio garden at the far end of the Craft Centre.

A Bristol artist is thrilled to be exhibiting some of her favourite pieces at Studio 3.

Emily McCullouch is one of the gallery’s latest guest artists and currently has a collection of wildlife illustrations on show.

Emily said: “I really admire what the gallery does and everyone involved! Their hard work and deep passion for art makes for such a positive and supportive atmosphere.

“They’ve offered me so much great advice and encouragement along the way and I'm delighted to be a part of it.”

Art was Emily’s favourite subject at school and she said she knew that she had to pursue it as a career.

She said: “As I'm at an early stage in my career, I find that each new piece builds on the last. This collection, named Humble Creatures is all about illustrating the distinct characters in British nature and championing our sometimes overlooked native wildlife.

“My motivation behind everything I create is to be a voice for nature. I am deeply passionate about the environment and a particular worry for me is the growing disconnect many people feel with the natural world. I aim to foster an appreciation for the real species we have living alongside us and to inspire a sense of curiosity, respect and responsibility for the natural world.”

Emily’s work will be on display until Saturday, 14th November, so why not pop in and take a look.

This display in the Studio 3 gallery is definitely giving cosy Autumn vibes.

Everything featured has been created by Liz Marsh, is a resident artist at Studio 3, and enjoys creating a range of pieces through wet felting, eco printing and botanical printing on felt, silk and upcycled clothes.
She describes wet felting as painting with wool and loves sharing her passion with others by hosting workshops at her home in Portishead.

She currently has these beautiful pumpkins on display, which would look fantastic in any home, scarves, hand-felted stress/fiddling ball, and ladies shirts.
She also has some lovely bookmarks on show, made by her granddaughter Izzy.

The only the addition is this glorious lamp, created by batik artist Jo Whiteland. Jo is also a resident artist and has lots of unique items on display.

Studio 3 is open every day and features a variety of work of both resident and guest artists. Anyone is welcome to go along and browse at everything on display.

Opening hours are:
Monday – Saturday 10am-4pm
Sunday – 11am-4pm

MosaiCraft consists of small colourful pixels which make up stunning designs - all you need to do is grab your tweezers and follow the easy design sheets.

This is a great hobby for new and experienced crafters. For children, it can be a natural progression from Hama Beads, so why not pop in to Studio 2 at the Craft Centre and take a look at the many different designs available.

Today’s jewellery workshop at MosaiCraft, led by Penny from PenGems, proved a big success, with everyone taking part trying their hand at jewellery-making for the first time.

With ages ranging from just eight to, well, let’s just say a little older, participants had the chance to create their own earrings, bracelets and necklaces using semi-precious gemstones, crystals and glass beads. Best of all, they were able to take their creations home with them.

Among those taking part was a family of three – a grandmother, her grandson and granddaughter – who travelled from Bristol after recently discovering the Craft Centre. They said the workshop had been a wonderful way to spend the half-term holiday together, particularly given the wet and windy weather.

Two other ladies said it was the first time they had tried making their own jewellery and that they had thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Whilst there, some of those attending also took the chance to try their hand at MosaiCraft, which is a unique cross between mini-mosaic and paint by numbers.

Remember the clocks go back tonight, which means it will be a bit lighter in the morning.

The good news is that it looks like we will actually get some sunshine in Clevedon tomorrow so why not pop down to see us our craft makers in their studios.

Many of the clocks we have are now digital and change automatically, but if you're lucky enough to have an analogue clock, like this beautiful handmade one from the pottery studio's 'Gardeners Delight' range, then make sure you wind it back an hour when you get up!

What a difference a week makes! 💨🌧️

Last Friday, Liz from the pottery studio, took the opportunity to dry some new pieces out in the beautiful sunshine.

She has been busy creating some new 'Scooby Snack' dog treat ceramic pots, oil drizzlers and dip dishes.

The studio opens Wednesday to Sunday, so if you’re looking for something special, make sure you pop in and take a look around.

Did you know that coconut hair, or coir, as it’s better known, is one of the more traditional materials used in furniture upholstery?

We didn’t either until we popped into Needle & Nail and caught up with John, who is restoring a chair for a customer.

We look forward to seeing it when it’s finished!

If you have a piece of furniture that is in need of some TLC then, pop in and say hello.
