Do I have a minimum spend for wedding flowers?

Kind of... it depends. This is an area that I find difficult. As a small, independent florist I need to make sure that I survive. However, I want everyone to be able to enjoy having fresh flowers on their wedding day.

My minimum spend on wedding flowers is £500. This allows me to order in the necessary range of flowers and foliage as well as cover my other costs eg travel.

My typical weddings fall around £1,000 - £2,000 and this budget is usually sufficient to cover seasonal bridal party flowers and a few items of venue decor.

That 'just married' feeling!

No matter a couples' personal style, venue or season- the smiles at the end of the wedding ceremony say it all.

After months of careful planning, the moment after the ceremony is one of relief, joy and excitement. Surrounded by friends and family, dressed up in your finery, stunning venue to enjoy- the high of the wedding day is so joyful to see.

Outdoor venues are fabulous for those more relaxed wedding couples like Chimene and Anthony who celebrated their wedding in July.

Do you charge a deposit when taking wedding bookings?

Yes, I do. So do most wedding suppliers.

There are several reasons why I charge a deposit:
- It lets me know if a couple is serious and not just shopping around.
- It gives me some financial protection if they decide to cancel their booking.
- It compensates me for the hours already spent on quotes and proposals.

Wedding days are always full of smiles and laughter. Such a great part of the job to be a small part of someone's big day.

When should I book my wedding florist?

All wedding suppliers work differently so there is no right answer to this question.

If your wedding is off-peak (outside of spring/summer or mid-week) then you should be fine to book about 6 months in advance. If you are getting married on a peak day then I would suggest getting your florist booked in 9-18 months in advance.

It all depends on the popularity of your date, area and the florist you are choosing!

Personally, I open my books for the following calendar year (eg right now you could book me until December 2027). If you are a super organised couple and want to plan further ahead than that, I will happily place you on a waiting list and get in touch as soon as you can get booked in.

Dogs at wedding! You have to love it when the most important member of the household makes it front and centre on a wedding day!

The outdoor ceremony space Battleswick Farm Essex Wedding Venue was a perfect venue for this sunny, July wedding. With natural and rustic bouquets and buttonholes to complement the relaxed feeling.

Creating this garden-style bridal bouquet with soft pink dahlias, sweet peas, and wild greenery was an absolute dream—but sharing the spotlight with a pug in a wedding outfit might just take the cake!
