๐๐ป A Little Hello from Me! ๐๐ป
Hi everyone! Itโs been a while, so I thought Iโd pop on, show my face, and say a big โHi!โ to all my followersโboth old and new.
For those who donโt know me, Iโm an artist based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, specialising in portrait commissions drawn in graphite and coloured pencil. Over the years, Iโve had the pleasure of bringing all sorts of characters to lifeโfrom people to parrots, and all sorts in-between! I absolutely love working closely with clients to create artwork that they can truly treasure.
As a naturally shy person, Iโve always found the sales side of things quite challenging, and I'm not at all pushy! If youโre curious about my work or prices, please feel free to reach out for a no-pressure chatโIโd love to hear from you.
Iโll be honest: social media isnโt always easy for me. Like many introverted artists, I sometimes struggle to keep up. Iโve been guilty of hiding behind my screen. This year, Iโm aiming to be more presentโnot just online, but out in the real world too!
Social media has been a blessing in many ways. It helped me launch my business after being made redundant during lockdown, connecting me to incredible clients across the UK and inspiring me through a wonderful artist community. But itโs also exhausting to keep up with. When I step back to recharge (like Iโve done over the past few months), it often feels like starting from scratch when I return.
Real life hasnโt made things easier lately! From a leaky roof and partial ceiling collapse to flooding and burst pipes, itโs been a rough few months at home. When things pile up, I tend to withdraw, but Iโm trying to embrace the ups and downs rather than forcing positivity when itโs not how I feel.
This year, I want to keep things real and honest. Life isnโt always smooth sailing, and thatโs okay! Iโm also planning to push myself creatively and try new things that Iโve been scared to explore until nowโbecause, honestly, whatโs the worst that could happen?
If you enjoy my work and donโt mind following along with the journey of a happy-but-tired artist, warts and all, Iโd love for you to stick around. And if youโd like to support my business, any likes, shares, or interactions with my posts mean the world to me.
Hereโs to a year of creativity, honesty, and hopefully fewer calamities than 2024! Thanks so much for your supportโit truly means everything.
