Looking to treat yourself (or someone else) with a little something? Don't forget that all of our scents are also available as small tin candles. Perfect for trying out a new scent or two.

Here's Ember Spice looking particularly lovely. This gorgeous scent is one of our favourites - with notes of oud, saffron, amber and a hint of vanilla.

We're often asked how we get our candle tops so silky smooth 💫

A big part of that is our wax.

The majority of candles you'll find elsewhere are made with paraffin or soy based wax. Both have their own advantages, but we like to do things a little differently here.

Each and every one of our candles is hand-poured using coconut apricot wax - lovingly chosen for its beautifully creamy finish, smooth appearance and awesome fragrance throw.

Of course the wax is only part of the story. The perfect smooth top also requires patience, careful pouring, adding fragrance oils at just the right temperature, and letting each candle cool slowly in its own time.

That's why we always pour by hand in small, intentional batches - to get that beautiful finish and scent throw we're gradually becoming known for.

We know it's far too early for the H word 🎃, let alone the C word🎄

But it takes time, patience and a lot of testing to launch the perfect seasonal scents - so we're getting an early start!

We've tested literally hundreds of fragrance blends and have been whittling them down to a final fantastic few. These need to delight our noses, meet our exacting standards, and reflect a level of quality we're happy to put our name to.

We're not there yet. But we've got some very exciting contenders. We can't wait to share more when the time is right (probably when it's not the middle of July 😅).

The wax melt bags are a lovely way to explore the range, with four melts in each bag and plenty of scents to choose from.

The small tin candles are a smaller, giftable version of our hand poured coconut apricot wax candles. Ideal for desks, bedside tables, bathrooms, or anyone who wants a little moment of calm.

Meet two of our favourite summer scents ☀️

Citrus Grove and Kitchen Garden bring the fresher side of Wessex Candle Co. - made for open windows, longer evenings and sunlit rooms.

🍋🥭 Citrus Grove is bright, juicy and uplifting: zesty lime, soft juicy mango and a touch of mango, blended into a fresh summer scent that feels clean, cheerful and easy to love.

🍅🌿🌹 Kitchen Garden is green, earthy and a little bit unexpected: tomato leaf, garden earth and soft rose, inspired by the scent of a warm garden after rain - leafy, botanical and quietly beautiful.

Each candle is hand poured in Dorset using our coconut apricot wax blend, chosen for its smooth creamy finish and beautiful fragrance throw. Finished with a crackling wooden wick for a soft, fireside-like glow.

Another milestone today - shipping our very first Etsy order!

This pair will be soon be whizzing their way up to London. Our customer has chosen a great duo of scents:

Golden Hearth - warm, toasty and a little bit indulgent.

Both hand poured with coconut apricot wax for a cleaner burn and elevated scent throw. We can't wait for our customer to receive their order.

Introducing Wessex Candle Co. - now on the shelf.

After many months quietly working away on our introductory range, today has felt like a real milestone - dropping our first batch of candles off at United Artisans in Dorchester, ready to be discovered.

It's wonderful to see the collection starting to find its place in the world.

Hand-poured in small batches in our little studio, with many scents inspired by the Dorset landscape - we can't wait to introduce you to the whole range.
