I’ve quietly been working on something personal.

I’ve created a printable guided grief journal. It’s something I wish I’d had when I needed a space to process, reflect and remember, and will likely turn to as I continue on the wiggly road of loss the start of this year.

It’s a printable, so you can use it in your own time, your own way.

If this feels like something you or someone you know might need, I’ve added the link below.

No pressure at all, just sharing something I hope might be useful to someone.

I made these two cards yesterday, one in soft blush pinks and one in cool, shimmering blues. It’s always satisfying watching the layers build up piece by piece until the design comes together.

Wishing you all a sunny, restful weekend. I hope you get a chance to enjoy the warmth while it lasts.

I have been making these slowly over the past while, choosing fabrics and papers that feel right together and letting each one take its own shape. It is a quiet process and I have come to really value that time.

Every journal is different. Some feel soft and comforting, some earthy and botanical, some a little imperfect in the nicest way. I like the thought that they will go on to hold someone else’s memories, plans, sketches or everyday thoughts.

They are now available in my Etsy shop if one happens to speak to you.

Made by hand in Dundee.

My Etsy shop is now open ✨

Right now you’ll find a small collection of my handcrafted cards — each one made slowly, thoughtfully, and designed to feel truly special to give (or keep).

Ready-made memory journals will be joining the shop very soon, so if you’ve been waiting for those, they’re on their way 🤍

Thank you so much for being here and supporting a tiny handmade business — it means more than you know.

Want to know how I turn fabric into book cloth?

It’s actually a really simple process. Fabric, HeatnBond, tissue paper and an iron. That’s it.

The HeatnBond bonds the fabric to the tissue paper which stabilises it and turns it into something you can glue and work with just like traditional book cloth. Once it’s done, the fabric becomes strong enough to wrap around the book boards and hold up as a proper journal cover.

It’s one of my favourite parts of the process because it’s the moment where a piece of clothing, fabric or textile starts its journey into becoming something that will hold memories.

I’ll be sharing more of the making process as these example journals come together.

Let me know if there are any other “how to” videos you’d like to see.

I’ve been collecting paper.

Not just one type either. Graph paper, dot paper, lined paper, patterned paper. The sort of things that feel ordinary until you start imagining what they could hold. Notes, memories, little scraps of life.

I’ve also been adding envelope pockets and blank greeting cards into the mix. Those will become leaves inside the example signatures I’m making for the journals. Little places to tuck things away. A ticket stub. A photo. A letter someone couldn’t quite say out loud.

The idea with the example journals is to show what’s possible. These books don’t have to be neat or uniform. They can be messy, mixed, personal. Different papers, different textures, different stories all bound together.

Because memories were never meant to live on identical pages.

Proposal Journal – The Paper Trail of Us

This green dress felt hopeful the moment I saw it. So it’s becoming a journal cover.

I’ll be turning this into a proposal or engagement journal example and sharing the process in future posts so you can see how something symbolic can become part of a love story.

Inside could be the quiet evidence of a relationship unfolding. Date night receipts. Love letters. Valentine’s Day cards. Holiday brochures. Booking confirmations. Paperwork from buying a home together. The ordinary documents that prove something extraordinary was being built.

The dress in this photo is real. The papers have been generated. I would never share someone’s actual letters, receipts or personal documents online. Privacy and care sit at the heart of what I do.

There’s something powerful about asking a life-changing question through the story you’ve already written together.

I’ve taken a wee break from the usual journal making to create something just for my mum 🤍

This year feels different. It’s our first Mother’s Day without my dad and that changes things. So I wanted her card to be more than just a card. I wanted it to feel thoughtful. Gentle. Properly made.

The layered peonies felt right. Soft but strong. A bit like her. And I added the gold details because she deserves a bit of shine, especially this year.

Grief is a strange thing. It sits quietly in the background of days that are meant to be celebrations. But love sits there too. And if I can fold some of that love into paper and petals and glue and tiny details, then I will. Every time.

Sometimes the most meaningful makes aren’t for customers. They’re for home. 🤍
