The Death tarot card is the 13th of the Major Arcana. It generally represents endings, transformation and new beginnings.

I have exciting news and thought it only fitting to share on the 13th, which happens to be a Friday 🧡🖤

After taking a break from candle-making last year, I realised my passion wasn’t in Sphynx Candle Co as it had been before. I was nervous to post anything, making anything new began to feel like a chore. I wasn’t enjoying it the same way. Creatively, I was stuck in a rut.

During my break, I’ve focussed on myself and prioritising my interests and the work I want to accomplish. So, whilst I’m feeling bittersweet announcing that the Sphynx Candle Co chapter of my life has ended.

I am excited however to reintroduce myself to you all as where I’ll still be sharing my art, in whatever form that may take. I’m really excited to be opening a new chapter📖 and hope that you enjoy coming along with me✨

I had a fabulous, hectic day at DeeCon 2025!!
Forgor to snap a pic of the setup so have a throwback to my inaugural artist alley table at DeeCon ‘23. Also, it’s been a decade since I even first started attending DeeCon! So that made me feel a bit old🥲

Hope everyone else had a lovely time. The weather was great and the vibes were as always, phenomenal. Time to sleep until Monday! 😅🫶🏻

Big things are happening in my life this year so the business has had to take a step back. Only three confirmed events on the agenda for the remainder of the year! I hope to get into Epic Con but time shall tell.

My goal this year is to chill out and have fun! I hope in putting less pressure on myself, creativity will flow and new ideas and art will come.

If you’re attending DeeCon next weekend please come along to the DUSA building into the Pavement Cafe where my stall will be located. I look forward to seeing folks and being back in my old stomping ground of Dundee😊

Oh, and my cat Shark has appeared to give you a sniff test! I hope you passed🙈

New candles debuting at Power Con! There’s also a 4th Dragon Age Candle, for you Veilguard players (specifically those reading nothing but Lucanis fanfics ifykyk) but I forgor to get a pic before I packed for the con.

Hope those of you going to Power Con enjoy being the first to sniff these candles. I’ll be sure to update these collections soon with more characters, as these are my two longest standing special interest fandoms (not sure what took me so long, I guess the fear that the fandoms are too niche!) anyway, the amount of people who have listened to me yap about Sims or Dragon Age inspired me to take the plunge and do what I want lol. These will go up on the webstore upon my reopening in April

Art v Artist 2024!!!

I’ve not really done this before as I don’t really think about posting my art to this account lol? Obviously being an artist is a big part of what I do, but the making of the candles has always been the forefront, and not so much my artwork that I draw to put on the labels.

This year I challenged myself by coming out of my cartoony art style a bit more and doing portraits of select BG3 characters for the candle labels and these are still my favourite pieces of mine from this year. I’ll probably make a carousel post to better show them for those of you who haven’t seen the candles in person!☺️

I hope to grow as an artist even more in 2025. I’ll be designing more stickers as always, and I may also move into selling prints if that is something people are interested in?

Hi lovelies! An update on what’s happening store-front wise over Christmas🎄

Things will be a bit more relaxed over this week - orders placed now are NOT guaranteed before Christmas but I’m keeping both my online stores open.

Since Sphynx Candle Co has become more of a passion project and less of a job for me this year, I’m not taking a full break. Doing this is my hobby lol and I’m excited to have more time as I have the next few weeks off work.🤣

So in exciting news, I’m in the midst of a full website restock ready for a Boxing Day sale!!🤩🏷️ This sale will last two weeks to help combat some of those post-festivities blues. I know I’ve had a lot of things out of stock recently, and to make it up I wanted to do a 20% sale on all products online after things are back in stock.

I can be a bit chaotic as a small business owner and I’m aware of that😅 As a thank you to all of the wonderful people who support me, both older customers and new, I wanted to give back in a way I can. So yes Gale candles will be back and 20% off 🙏🙏🙏

Now I’m back from Glasgow where I was at the fabulous CATstravaganza event I’m announcing my last market of the year will be with the lovely .yard.market in Dundee at The Malmaison Hotel. Excited for a lovely festive market❤️

This will be the last chance to buy any candles in person before Christmas as I take an early break after a very crazy year.

My website will remain open until December 16th. Throughout this week I will update the website with my newer candles, including my Minecraft, Baldur’s Gate 3, Deadpool & Wolverine, and cat themed collections. I have been slacking in keeping my website up to date so as people are prepping for Christmas I’ll do my best to keep up!

I’ve had a few people ask so just confirming I’m exhibiting at ACME this weekend🩷 Sorry the map quality is fuzzy and I wasn’t able to point my arrow very accurately, you’ll be able to view the show guide for a better look at the floor plan and to better locate my table - I’m pretty much in the middle of the row I’m in. Looking forward to seeing people there!!🥰🤗
