Unfortunately our scheduled next event has been cancelled.

🚨 IMPORTANT – OSWESTRY FAIR CANCELLED 🚨

We’re incredibly disappointed to announce that we are being forced to cancel Oswestry Antique & Collectors Fair on 26th & 27th September due to major roadworks and an 8-week road closure affecting access to the showground.

The road from the A5 roundabout towards Whittington Road (A495) will be completely closed from the island to the entrance of the industrial estate where the showground is located.

The diversion takes traffic approximately 3 miles towards the hospital and back down narrow country lanes before rejoining the already very busy A495.

Anyone who knows the area will know traffic can be difficult at the best of times. Our biggest concern is that visitors may be put off or give up trying to reach us, while traders with large vans, caravans and motorhomes will have to negotiate narrow country lanes and potentially significant congestion.

Ultimately, it’s a lose-lose situation. We could open the gates and hope people find their way to us, but we don’t think that’s fair on our traders who invest considerable time and money attending the fair. Equally, we simply cannot risk the financial loss of running the event knowing access will be so badly disrupted.

Sadly, cancelling September is the most sensible option for everyone. 😔

Anyone already booked will be contacted next week regarding a transfer or refund. Please bear with us, the timing couldn’t be worse as we have one of our music festivals this weekend, so we’ll begin processing everything immediately afterwards. We’re really sorry for the delay.

This has come as just as much of a surprise to us, and unfortunately the showground, who will also lose out considerably, has been given very little notice.

BUT WE DO HAVE SOME GREAT NEWS! ❤️

It’s always fantastic having the Bargain Hunt team with us and brilliant exposure for the fair and our traders.

A lovely day thrifting in Derbyshire. Chesterfield Flea Market was an excellent find. Great Charity Shops and an excellent Antique Centre to boot.
