A green and serene view from behind my stand at Handmade Oxford. I’ve not had chance to take pics yet but naturally I’m in my element surrounded by trees, marquees, and all the other fantastic exhibitors here at Waterperry Gardens - an incredible collection and standard of work on display

The gates are open and visitors arriving 🌸

Thanks to all who braved the weather and came to visit my stand at The Garden Show, it was so lovely to meet so many new people and to put a face to the names of some of my wonderful online customers - thank you for taking the time to travel to the show

My heart is full and my Hand Painted Stems depleted! I will be busy now over the next few days replenishing stocks in plenty of time for Handmade Oxford which opens this Friday over in the beautiful grounds at Waterperry Gardens

I’m really looking forward to my first event with The Handmade Britain team and hope to see some of you there. Please say hello 👋

Back to cutting and painting now for the next few days, maybe a sun dance too! ☕️🌸🪴🎨☀️

We had a super first day at The Garden Show yesterday, thanks to all who came along ( and a very nice surprise to see some very special friends and collectors who had travelled across from Somerset and Wiltshire to visit the show for the first time)

We were all nervous about the forecast storms and high winds last night so I am travelling in early to re set my stand having removed all the glassware and delicate pieces - the Doves and cheeky Blackbirds were left in charge to keep peace and calm overnight! Back at Broadlands today and tomorrow from 10am 🐝🌸☕️

Home for the next few days. Here at Chippenham Folk Festival with the welcome shade of these gorgeous Scots Pine Trees

The Craft Marquee has changed location this year - find us further down the riverside just before the bridge. It’s been a lovely start to the day catching up with some of my oldest friends and wonderful customers who were keen to find us as soon as the tent was opened, I’m feeling like a very lucky bunny to be here again 🌸

My very good pal and PA ( painting assistant!) Jonny has been busy helping me prep for Chippenham Folk Festival which opens this Friday

Jonny has a great eye for detail having worked as an architectural model maker and photographer, he has also worked with me before in our previous life running a travelling puppet company (Strung Out). There’s never a dull moment as we reminisce and laugh a lot about the jolly japes and unexpected adventures of our life on the road, and I’m hugely grateful that he is still prepared to drive down the notoriousily bothersome A37 from Bristol to help out in the workshop each week ( thank you Jonny!)

Today he is tasked with painting these sweet oak motifs which will be adorning my popular Oak Rondels in readiness for display at the festival - more on that later , for now it’s my turn to put the coffee pot on and we will be enjoying Lauren’s show over the sound of the cutter whirring away in the background ☕️☕️☕️💫🎶

HANDMADE OXFORD
INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY CRAFT FESTIVAL
12th - 14th JUNE

A new show for me in June, and such an honour to have my Hand Painted Flowers and Seed Heads featured on the promotional materials - THANK YOU to all the team for championing them:

Handmade in Britain

I am busy painting a gorgeous selection from my range to bring along with me and planning my display for this very special Summer show held over three days in Waterperry Gardens. A chance to exhibit alongside some wonderful crafts people from around the UK and to take my work to friends in beautiful Oxfordshire and beyond. I was fortunate enough to live in Oxford as a young woman, and have very happy memories of cycling around the city and walking alongside the Isis on Summer evenings ( past the spot where Lewis Carroll wrote about Alice and her friends!). I am so looking forward to connecting with this area again and meeting lots of new, creatively minded souls.

Two fellow makers suggested this show to me and I am so grateful to them both for nudging me in this direction - thank you Rose Marie .andspace and Gill

So now it’s back to painting for me - Summer colours galore amidst the sound of the laser cutters following my design files… and did someone mention coffee?!! ☕️

I’ve been head down on my machines all week and finally surfaced this morning to join over in sunny Bruton .. I took a few quick pics as we were setting up and we have had a steady stream of visitors who have already found us at this lovely venue. We are here until 4 pm today and tomorrow, with delicious fresh coffee and food served throughout the day with our friendly hosts ☕️
