This landed in our inbox this morning and we’ve not stopped looking at it.

Just someone’s windowsill, autumn light, a few wee pumpkins — and our lamp sitting right at home in it. This is the kind of thing that makes our week.

If you’ve got a Cotterell piece settled in somewhere nice, we’d love to see it 🍂

Some of our favourite words this month — and they’re not ours, they’re yours 💛

From dramatic, colour-drenched pendant shades to a full renovation lit up with bespoke pieces, every one of these started the same way: a chat in-store or over the phone about what you actually wanted your space to feel like.

That’s the bit we love most. Not just making the shade — getting it right.

Thinking about your own project? Pop into Causewayside or Carnoustie Place and let’s talk it through 🍂

Three shades, one fitting, endless compliments. Thank you for trusting us with this one.

This one still stops us in our tracks every time it’s switched on. Bold fabric, warm lining, exactly the drama our customer was after.

Bespoke takes a little patience — but “exactly as the image” is always worth the wait.

“I would never go anywhere else” might be our favourite seven words. This is what keeps us doing what we do.

A full renovation, finished with lighting made just for the space. This is the kind of project we live for.

New in: plum for the colder months 🍷🍂

Faux fur cushions and throws perfect for good layering should — a rich, deep colour against texture you want to sink into.

A brilliant way to bring autumn into a room. Drape the throw over an armchair or the end of the bed, add the cushion wherever you need a bit of depth.

We’re bringing these along to Jingle Mingle on 14th November with Anne Marie- I organise Mingle & Home Events across the UK — come and feel the texture in person there, or pop into our Glasgow or Edinburgh showroom any day before then 🧡

It’s quite impossible to pick just ten things we love here at Cotterell & Co BUT here’s a few 💫

Open in Glasgow & Edinburgh today 10-5pm!

Fabric Friday 🍇✨

It looks like the last plum of the season. Feels like old-world glamour with a modern twist. This one turns a plain ceiling into a proper statement.

The Anthology marble wallpaper lining is doing the real work here - all warm gold shimmer once the bulb’s on, a different mood entirely to how it reads switched off.

Beautiful as a semi-flush in a dining room or hallway with a bit of height to play with. Come and see it lit in person at our Glasgow or Edinburgh showroom, or ask us about it in another colourway 💜

Fabric Friday 🍂✨

It looks like autumn leaves caught mid-fall. Feels like a mid-century print that's found its way back. This one turns a plain shade into a genuine conversation starter.

Beautiful on a table lamp in a living room or study - enough colour to hold its own, enough pattern to keep catching your eye.

Come and see Elaris Auburn in person at our Glasgow or Edinburgh showroom, or ask us about it on your own base 🍁

Meet the noodle dogs 🐾🍂

Woven, wonky-eared, and looking very pleased with themselves - these two have wandered into the showroom and we don’t have the heart to send them back.

All texture, no bite, and somehow the most autumnal thing on the floor that doesn’t plug in.

Come and say hello in person at our Glasgow or Edinburgh showroom, or message us to bring one home 🧡

Fabric Friday 🌴✨

It looks like brushstrokes caught mid-motion. Feels like a warm coastal afternoon, painted rather than photographed. This one turns a plain shade into the main event.

Gorgeous on a floor lamp in a reading corner, or anywhere that could use a bit of colour without going too bold.

Come and see it in person at our Glasgow or Edinburgh showroom, or ask us about it on your own base 🌿

This is why we love a busy showroom 💛✨

Glass globe pendants stacked at every height, that infinity light glowing against the slatted wall, mirrors doing double duty as light bouncers - this is what "getting cosy" looks like when lighting's your whole job.

Come and lose an afternoon wandering our Edinburgh showroom - every fitting's switched on, every price tag's visible, and our team's genuinely happy to talk you through any of it.

Open 7 days, no appointment needed 🍂

New in: Elin Plum Noir 🍇🍂

Brushstroke-abstract, moody, and layered with plum, charcoal and warm brown - this cushion looks like it was painted rather than printed. The texture in the weave catches every colour differently depending on how the light hits it.

Come and see the full palette in person at our Glasgow or Edinburgh showroom, or message us to order 🍁
