Trying something a little different… embroidery is great therapy for me, it’s something I’ve always enjoyed but not found a lot of time for. But since entering my forties it suddenly feels more important to make time for that creativity and peace.

For this little one I used plant dyed yarns from Wales, by the brilliant . The wool comes from Shetland sheep which are a UK breed on the watchlist of — a charity that conserves and promotes native livestock as sustainable alternatives to the intensively farmed breeds that have come to dominate our countryside in recent decades.

It brings me SO much joy to work with these precious materials. Sincerely wishing everybody has the opportunity to find a creative project that fills their cup right up.

A few snaps from the Chelsea Flower Show. In my opinion, the best garden in show is A Textile Garden for Fashion Revolution by and . Pictured in the first two shots, all the plants in the garden can be used to naturally dye or make fabrics. Nettle, Valerian, Sumac, Willow, Iris, Alliums, Flax, Madder, and many more... it blows my mind how much knowledge people had throughout history, when they grew plants in their kitchen gardens for multiple purposes. Nutrition, medicine, textiles, there is so much to re-learn in order to live sustainably. This garden made a beautiful and vital intervention. You can vote for them online in the people's choice awards.

And the dress worn by Fashion Revolution founder Carry Somers has been dyed using dandelions and daffodils, isn’t it fab?
