What an achievement, graduating as a Royal Marine Commando!

Cam’s parents, quite rightly, were very proud of his accomplishment.

They ordered a Guinness chocolate for his passing out party. I was able to personalise it for him to make that bit more special.

The feedback I received was just lovely:
“His party was fantastic, Your cake really was the icing on the cake. Everyone was blown away with the design and Cam was very reluctant to cut into it but he did and it was delicious!”

A very thoughtful daughter ordered this bouquet for her mom’s birthday. It couldn’t have been more sunny, on this very sunny bank holiday weekend.

The brief was: frangipani & lily’s (yellow & white) and an absolute winner of a flavour combo: Guinness chocolate with salted caramel buttercream.

Whenever I bake for Henry, it reminds me how old is. He was one of my very first customers, and that was almost six years ago!

As Henry grows up, so does shortybakescakes.

I was thrilled to make this cake for him, for the Sugarpaste modelling challenge, and for the love of this movie franchise. is much loved in our household & to create this homage was a dream come true.

Bonus points if you can guess the movie!

Henry chose s’mores flavour cake, so I made a buttermilk chocolate sponge, with Belgian chocolate buttercream, crushed Digestive biscuits & Toasted Marshmallow buttercream using icing sugars.

My customers sister recently turned 60. She’s been a long time supporter of .

I wanted to make a cake for her with black & white, some stripes & also make it feminine.

The cake needed to be vegan, & nut free. The insides of this little monochrome cake is vegan vanilla sponge, raspberry jam & dairyfree vanilla frosting .france Flora Plant Butter is a great option for nut free vegan cakes.
