Hidden within the boards there was water damage, which was causing a dangerous bounce underfoot.

Our team repaired, restored and refinished the beech floor in Junckers Flooring protective lacquer, adding fresh court markings for a safe, durable finish.

We completed this school floor last week during half term. We were in and out in just a few days, ready for classes to start again on Monday.

Not only that, the kids themselves had great feedback on this one - the floor has been hailed as very smooth and much nicer to sit on. Well, can’t get much better than that!

At a Church in Ipswich, we carefully repaired, sanded, and sealed the original parquet flooring, restoring the beautiful herringbone pattern and brightening the entire space. The floor is now protected and ready for many more years of use.

New sports and activity flooring can cut school energy costs by up to 70%.

A recent article in Contract Flooring Journal highlighted new embodied carbon targets for school buildings, including a maximum embodied carbon figure of 550kg CO2e/m² across 200 new schools planned in England over the next five years.

One of the big conversations within the article was around long lifespan materials and biogenic carbon storage through timber flooring.

That’s one of the reasons we continue to work with Junckers Flooring across education environments.

It’s good to see more attention being given to flooring specification at design stage, especially in spaces where durability, sustainability, and long term performance all matter.

From dark and dingy to… well, see for yourself!

This original 1890s flooring at St Osyth Church had been darkened by stain and wear over the last century, hiding its true character.

Our team was called in to carefully remove the old stain and damaged wood blocks, then we sanded and sealed the entire floor to reveal its stunning natural pine colour once more. We worked with Bona and the results are stunning!
