These bathroom cabinets were severely water damaged at the bottom - paint cracked and furry MDF exposed. Sand, prime, sand prime, sand prime and we have a perfect surface again ready for the colour. My customer chose Farrow & Ball Wevet no.273 in a 15% matt finish. A smaller project than what I’m used to, but the same attention to detail is applied. Thanks for looking.

My customer was torn between Farrow & Ball Pavilion Grey and Dimpse no.277. In attempt to make the space brighter due to getting no real sunlight, I advised on the lighter shade: Dimpse. The quantity of elements that came off this kitchen surprised me, so I prepared myself for a long day of reinstalling once everything had been sprayed in the workshop. A huge thank you to Brian and Barbara, what a great couple to work with. They have opted for a white, quartz worktop in the new year and an off-white emulsion that’s designed to withstand the humid conditions of a kitchen. I think they made a great decision.

This colour is Valspar - Scottish Kilt. I always get caught off guard with darker colours like this. With greens, blues and blacks, prepare yourself for a project that takes twice as long! Even though they look intense in the can, the opposite is true when applying it. 5 coats later and we have another fantastic looking kitchen brought back to life (see before pics for proof). You may notice that the wood grain on the doors is prominent to say the least, paired with a dark colour I definitely had my work cut out. At some angles, it looks like there are patches of white showing through, but it’s just the reflection of light you see as it hits the deep grain pattern - to remedy this, a paint with less sheen would better hide this feature if it’s not your style. I installed new plinth protectors on the kickboards, those L-shaped aluminium style ones which you can pick up from B&Q. I also wrestled with the integrated freezer to get it shutting properly, the wonders of working with existing kitchens. No AI in this post you’ll be glad to hear - just good, honest craftsmanship.

This is a great example of how a respray can change your kitchen. My customer also changed their worktop to maximise the effect of the transformation. After liasing with my customer for nearly 6 months, I could start my work. The colour choice was a selection from the Little Greene colour chart - Aqua Marine (Deep) 192. Little Greene & Farrow and Ball charts are the better option over Dulux or Johnstones colour charts as they contain more ‘moody’ colours, much more suited to the majority of kitchens.
This kitchen required some extra work - cutting panels, extra prep on doors, plinths etcetera, so took a bit longer complete, but it was worth it. My customer has saved a fortune and I get another 10/10 kitchen respray to display on my instagram profile. Swipe to the end to see before photos

This project was a challenge to say the least, but nothing that couldn’t be achieved. My client wanted to repair and restore the parts of the kitchen that were damaged (see pics) and repaint in a similar colour to the original to retain as much originality as possible. Needless to say, the results were amazing. I replaced the kickboards, filled and sanded down every nook and cranny, and spray painted to a flawless finish that my customer loved. Finished in Farrow & Ball James White no.2010 in a 15% matt sheen.

We sprayed two wardrobe doors for a returning customer of ours. Cool style room, exactly what you’d expect from an artist! The wardrobe was colour drenched with the walls - Farrow & Ball Calke Green no.34 and finished in a 15% matt sheen.

How I mask in-frame kitchen cabinets to prepare for spraying on-site. The frames sit flush with the cabinets themselves. Nice and easy, no fancy tools, not making it more complicated than it needs to be.

That was a big one. Main kitchen area resprayed in a 15% sheen, Farrow & Ball Lime White no.1 and the bank resprayed in a 15% sheen, Farrow & Ball Pigeon no.25.

I had previously been to our client’s home to respray their island in Pigeon and they wanted the rest of the kitchen to match. I love going back to a customers house to do more work because it means I’m doing something right. I also love discussing colours and influencing the decision - I’m no interior designer but I’m yet to have a client that’s disappointed with the colours they choose.

When painting the remainder of the bank in situ, I panicked as it looked like the Pigeon colour I was painting didn’t match the Pigeon colour I had previously applied to the kitchen island. It looked more green. Turns out it was an exact match but the natural light being casted on the bank made it look considerably different. I know this happens but the difference was really noticeable!

What do you think to the colour choice?

Audio removed so you don’t hear me breathing like Shrek having an asthma attack.

Originally Ash veneered MDF, this boot room is now sprayed flawlessly and finished in a 15% sheen. The colour was chosen by the customer from the Neptune colour chart - Dove Grey. Not to be mistaken for the popular colour.

Compared to bare MDF, any kind of wood veneer is a dream to spray and the results really show.

This project was completed in Stourbridge for a client who also chose me to spray their kitchen pantry and walk-in wardrobe.

My client attempted it themselves. This is a perfect example of why sometimes, the job should be left to a professional - especially with something not only so important, but expensive too. Even after 10 years painting kitchens, I still learn every day.

If you make it to the end of this video, you could probably imagine that after 30 kitchen doors, this task can become quite tedious to say the least. I hate to say it - but my client attempting it themselves caused more harm than good!

The surface had what we call in the industry - ‘fisheyes’ which is caused by applying paint when grease or other contaminants still exist. They’re called fisheyes because of how the paint sort of slides off the spot of grease and settles around it in a circular shape, leaving it to, well, look like a fish’s eye.

The end scene is a shot from inside my spray booth after the doors had been fully prepared and were then truly ready to be painted. Now it’s a smooth, even surface, sprayed to perfection. That’s experience.
