I’ve always loved blue and white together on a table. It reminds me of old English kitchens, summer lunches in the garden and pieces collected and loved over many years.

My Sophie Conran Blue collection with Portmeirion was inspired by traditional English spongeware, with each pattern designed to mix beautifully together whilst still feeling effortless and easy to live with. I especially love layering it with the classic white collection to create a table that feels gathered rather than too “done”.

These are the sorts of pieces I reach for every day - practical, beautiful and made to be used, whether it’s a quiet cup of tea or a table full of family and friends 💙

Come and have a peek around Emma’s beautiful home built in 1666! She very kindly let us pop in, and I absolutely love it . Emma told us she’s always loved colour, and you can see it everywhere. Her bespoke pink sofa sitting so comfortably all that history just makes me smile. It’s bold, joyful and it's so wonderful to see how it already feels completely at home.

And how lovely to hear that it's already being thoroughly enjoyed, with her Granddaughters clambering all over it, her dog perched along the back, and Emma sinking into it at the end of the day saying it feels like being hugged by a cloud. Sounds totally perfect to me!

We make all of our sofas by hand and to order so they can become part of real life, especially at Christmas, when houses are full, busy and cosy too.

I've been thinking about the small moments that make this season feel special and how much of Christmas happens on a sofa. They really are the heart of the home and the place where so many of our family memories are made. Right now, we have some of our amazing sofa bases ready and waiting to become part of someone’s Christmas. All you need to do is choose your favourite fabric which we then can make into your covers in 2-3 weeks and we’ll deliver in time for Christmas.
