It is our absolute pleasure to share our new project, Harris Beads, with you after a busy winter quietly creating.
While working with the local distillery to create presentation stones for the Harris Whisky, we began to think about the materials used in the process and decided to experiment with creating beads from whisky barrel staves.
We have since been working hard to perfect our bead making skills, refining our carving techniques over the last year and working with a variety of different materials - which we source locally in the islands.
Making use of local tree species as well as plans to include our stone beads and other materials over time, we love the way Harris Beads compliment the colours of the landscape of the Hebrides.
