Hello everyone 😊 I’ve not posted on here for a while but have been admiring all of your beautiful accounts on instagram from afar.

I’ve been busy growing baby number 3 (!) and I’m already 34 weeks 😱 so not long to go. After the pop up show I did in April I decided to hold off on the pottery making to adjust to pregnancy and enjoy the school holidays with my other children. I’m starting to really miss making though and can’t wait to get back into my little studio soon 😊

This is a vase I made before the pregnancy and although bisque fired it’s yet to be glazed - I wonder what colour I should go for, any suggestions? 🤔

Hope you all had a wonderful summer holidays ✨ Amy x

Bisque fire 🔥

We are back from the half term holiday which means these plates are in the kiln for their overnight bisque fire. It usually takes at least 12 hours before I can see if all the plates have made the first firing 🤞🏻

Slim candlestick holders ✨

I originally designed my slim candlestick holders to solve the dilemma of displaying some beautiful tall beeswax birthday candles I was given for a present by my friend Laura 3 years ago. I was so excited scribbling down my design ideas in front of a roaring fire (I remember it well) and it was the first piece of pottery that I had created from just an idea into reality. Since my first prototype I’ve noticed a few potters have recreated this design and at first I was a little disappointed. But over the years I’ve come to realise that it’s actually a huge compliment for people to recreate my work. It only reassures me that I must be doing something right. What are your thoughts on copying? Awkward topic of conversation isn’t it 🙈

Swipe right to see my very first original design prototype from a few years back. As you can see from the first photo taken today they haven’t really changed 😊

✨ A plethora of plates ✨

As an avid pottery collector I have always been drawn to a beautiful handmade plate, but as a maker it’s something I have often avoided. This is for numerous reasons like warping issues in the green ware stage, the large amounts of expensive clay required, high explosion rates during firings, each plate (any size) taking up one full kiln shelf limiting batch numbers…the list goes on 🙈.

However, I often lay in bed at night thinking of all pretty plates that I could be making - so, I have finally succumbed to my pottery Achilles heel and beginning to make my ideas for plates a reality. These are all still at the prototype stage (so give me any feedback on the ones you like/don’t like) but if they survive the next two firings and are as wonderful as I think they could be, I will be making them for my online shop - hurrah! Watch this space…

Have a wonderful weekend ahead and half term holidays (if you have kiddos!) love Amy x
