🩷 I missed an important milestone this weekend… 🩷

Yesterday, on Sunday the 18th of October, our lovely little Bean and Bemble shop in Hebden Bridge turned ONE! 🎂🥳

I’d planned to celebrate with a little Prosecco party, some lovely new products and a bit of a shop refresh. But unfortunately, things haven’t quite gone to plan.

After a really difficult summer (basically things have been tough since April) with several poorly family members, I’ve found myself feeling completely overwhelmed and so so far behind with everything. The new shelving hasn’t gone up, I’ve barely started ordering Christmas stock, and some of our most popular ranges are almost completely sold out. 🙈 I didn’t launch the fabric range I’ve been talking about for years, I didn’t finish a lot of things, there are customers I haven’t got back to, and I feel like I’ve dropped sooooo many balls.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve worked so hard to get the shop to where it is, and I really wanted to make a fuss of our first birthday.

But I realised that what I actually needed wasn’t a party. It was a reset. ❤️

So instead of celebrating, I escaped to the Lincolnshire coast for three nights with Nick, the kids and our dog Cleo and stayed with family. A little time away from work, some fresh (sea) air, lovely walks and a chance to switch off. 🌊☀️

And do you know what? I feel so much better for it!

I’ve got a LOT to do over the next few weeks to get the shop even remotely ready for Christmas, but I’ll get there! 🎄 New stock will be arriving soon (I’ve placed ONE order, the rest will be ordered asap), including some lovely new designs and even hopefully some new products I’ve been working on, albeit slowly.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported our little shop over its first year. Whether you’ve popped in, ordered online, shared a post or simply told someone about us, it really does mean the world. 🥰

I’m sorry we didn’t get to celebrate properly, but perhaps we’ll have a belated birthday party when things have settled down! 🥂 maybe even in the new year…
