A little glimpse of what’s arriving tomorrow.

Two bespoke workshop tables, designed especially for our Creative Nook workshops by my cousin, Simon Poyser, a talented joiner and furniture maker.

They’ve been hand-made from reclaimed scaffolding planks, full of marks, grain, history and quiet character.

Exactly the sort of surface I imagined for this creative, nature-inspired space.

Soon these tables will hold papers, threads, ribbons, scissors, journals, cups of tea, and the hands of people happily making something.

I can’t wait to see them in the space.

A little shelf story.

Today’s gathering includes ribbons, old lace, textured papers, soft threads and the sort of tiny useful things that make a creative table feel inviting.

I’ve always loved materials that feel like they already have a story.

A frayed edge.
A faded colour.
A paper with texture.
A ribbon that looks as though it has been waiting for the right project.

That is the feeling I want Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary to have.

A place where you can come in for one small thing and leave with an idea.

So many people quietly tell themselves:

“I’m not creative.”

But creativity doesn’t have to mean being good at drawing.
It doesn’t have to mean making something perfect.
It doesn’t have to mean knowing what you’re doing before you begin.
Sometimes creativity is just choosing a piece of fabric.
Threading a needle.
Pressing a flower into a journal.
Layering paper because the colours feel right.
Making something slowly, with no pressure.

That’s what The Creative Nook is here for.

Gentle workshops for curious beginners, quiet makers, stitchers, paper lovers, nature enthusiasts and anyone who wants to reconnect with creativity.

No experience needed.

Just curiosity.

Workshops begin from 13 July at Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary. Details coming soon.

After months of planning, painting, gathering, sourcing and dreaming, Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary is nearly ready to open its doors.

To celebrate, I’m hosting a gentle Grand Opening afternoon at MAWS Arts & Crafts Centre.

Come and browse the shop, see the workshop space, have a wander, enjoy a drink, and spend a little time among papers, ribbons, textiles, journals, haberdashery and beautiful creative materials.

What is a creative apothecary?

For me, it’s a place of gathered things.

Beautiful papers.
Soft ribbons.
Old lace.
Useful tools.
Vintage haberdashery.
Textiles with stories.
Journals waiting to be filled.
Materials that make your hands want to begin.

Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary will be a small maker’s shop for people who love thoughtful materials and quiet creativity.

Not rushed.
Not overwhelming.
Just a calm place to browse, gather and be inspired.

Something rather lovely is taking shape at Studio C19.

There is paint on my hands, dust on the floor, and a growing pile of papers, ribbons, textiles and little gathered things waiting for their shelves.

This July, Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary opens in Jackfield — a small creative shop and workshop space for people who love making, creating, journaling, stitching, gathering and slowing down.

Alongside the shop, The Creative Nook will become our calm workshop programme.
More soon. For now, just a quiet hello from the middle of the making.

Every day brings us one step closer to opening a space dedicated to creativity, calm, connection, and making by hand.

There’s still plenty to do, but watching the studio come to life is something quite special.

A MOMENT TO SHARE

I’ve been holding onto this secret for a little while, but today it finally feels real: I have the keys in my hand! 🗝️

I am so incredibly excited to share that Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary has a new home at the beautiful MAWS Arts & Crafts Centre. This space is going to be a sanctuary for all things slow and tactile, housing both our curated retail studio and the new home for The Creative Nook workshops. 🌿

Holding these keys feels like such a pinch-me moment. It’s the start of a brand new chapter where we can gather, create, and find calm together in person.

We are officially opening the doors on July 1st! I can’t wait to welcome you into this creative apothecary, filled with seasonal papers, textiles, and botanical treasures. There is so much to do before then, but for today, I’m just going to sit with this feeling for a moment.
