We source 100% of our wool from a cooperative of local farms, paying a fairly traded rate that helps reduce overheads for farmers and gives them a better return for their fleece.

Early spring in the Lake District means one thing: Herdwick lambing season! 🐑

Soon, the ewes will be brought down from the fells to the in-bye land in preparation to have their lambs in the green fields. The date of lambing is timed for the beginning of good weather, and so that lambs hit the ground just as the grass is starting to grow. Lambing will then continue through to the end of May.
