Same faces. Same standards. A new name. 🔥

Back in November 2020, One Click Flooring started with the two of us, a van and a stubborn belief that a floor is only as good as what's underneath it.
Nearly six years on, we've grown. We've learned so much from every home we've walked into, every subfloor we've fixed properly and every customer who trusted us with their space. Somewhere along the way, we realised we'd outgrown the name, but not the way we do things.

So today, One Click Flooring becomes Ember & Grain Flooring. 🧡

🔥 Ember is the warmth: the heart of a home and the care we put into every job.
🌳 Grain is the craft: natural materials, proper prep, and floors built to last.

What hasn't changed is us. Same two faces, same honest advice, and the same "do it once, do it right" approach. If we've fitted a floor for you before, your guarantee still stands, and you'll find us on the same number.
What's new is how we look after you. We now come to you for home consultations, bringing samples you can see and feel in your own light, with time to talk through what will actually work for your home and your life.

We have just completed this staircase and hall landing in Kilbirnie.
Every tread and riser was prepped first to get a good solid base, then fitted with LVT and finished with stair nosings on each step. Really pleased with how the hallway has come together.

We don't just lay floors — we make sure they last.

Beautiful new build, stunning finish — but underneath was a problem you'd never see coming. Lignite in the concrete. Left alone, it's the kind of thing that quietly destroys a floor down the line.

So we did it properly:

🔹 Ground the slab back
🔹 Applied an epoxy DPM to lock the moisture out
🔹 Smoothing compound for a flawless base
🔹 Then the lovely J2 LVT in Regal Timber over the top 👑

The result speaks for itself — and honestly, when we opened the back door to that view, the floor had some serious competition for best thing in the room. 😍

And a big thank you to the loveliest customers, who were an absolute pleasure from start to finish. It's people like this that make the job a joy — we're chuffed we could be part of their beautiful new home. 🙏

This is the bit people don't see and the bit that matters most. Anyone can lay a floor. Making sure it's still perfect in ten years starts with what goes on before the first plank.

Herringbone always delivers, but this one's a real beauty. 🙌

Old damaged LVT and carpet up and away, a full 9mm ply subfloor down and prepped properly, then our Textures LVT in Washed Oak laid in a classic herringbone. Get the base right and it lasts.

Before and after — and this one’s a great example of how the details matter. 📸

The old SPC click floor had failed due to several factors related to improper installation from previous fitter. Cracks, chips and broken sections right across it — it actually crunched underfoot as you walked across the room. Not what you want underfoot in your own home.

So we lifted the lot and started from the subfloor up, finishing with a premium glue-down LVT for a solid, stable floor that’s built to last. We finished in J2 Glacier Oak — and just look at the difference in those tones. 😍

But here’s the bit we’re really pleased with: we sat down with the customer and talked through the direction of the herringbone lay and where they wanted it centred. It might sound like a small thing, but turning the pattern to run down the length of the room completely changes how the space feels — it draws the eye through and makes the whole room feel longer and more open. Same design, laid two different ways, gives you two totally different feelings.

That’s the value of getting the design right before you get the tools out. Chuffed with this one. 👌

Another one done! 🙌

This job was all about doing it properly. We lifted the old damaged SPC click, then got stuck into the important stuff you don’t always see but absolutely matters — grinding the subfloor back, applying an epoxy DPM, priming, and laying down a smoothing compound to get everything flat and sound before a single plank went down.

That’s the prep that makes the difference between a floor that looks good on day one and a floor that stays looking good for years.

And the result? J2 Glacier Oak in all its glory. Absolutely made up with how this one turned out. 😍

Huge shout out to the customers too — genuinely fantastic people to work with from start to finish. Made the whole job a pleasure. Thank you! 🙏
