⚠️ FLOOR FAILURE 😲
Subfloor mistakes cost more than the floor itself. 🛠️
Swipe to see what we walked into — and what we left behind. ⬅️➡️
We were called into a kitchen where the LVT had started lifting and showing lumps across the entire surface. When we pulled it back, the culprit was clear: the original installer had cut corners at every stage of subfloor prep.
❌ Wrong grade of plywood — warped
❌ Not enough fixings, wrongly spaced
❌ Wrong primer used under the smoothing compound — adhesion failed completely
The poor customer had a brand new kitchen floor that was already ruined. Through no fault of their own.
This is why subfloor preparation isn't something you rush. It's the foundation everything sits on — get it wrong and it doesn't matter how good the flooring is on top.
We stripped it back, prepped it properly, and relaid it the right way with a far superior product. The difference speaks for itself. ✅
We used an XL plank on a 45° angle in a colour that much better matches the kitchen, introducing warmer tones and has more of a Scandinavian feel.
If your floor doesn't look or feel right, get in touch — sometimes a second opinion saves a much bigger bill. 📩
