gorgeous new pattern "Rufus, the Rusty Patched Bumblebee" has just been released!

As you know, I love making smaller versions so I made this tiny cutie using cotton yarn
and a small 2mm hook.

I had the pleasure of testing this cute bumblebee for Alexandra and I can honestly say it's such a sweet design and quick to make.

I finished this jumper a few weeks ago but totally forgot to post a pic or two. 🙈
It's been hectic as usual here at Bumblebee HQ with Christmas orders. Yes, I said Christmas and its only May! 😆
I've also been busy making bumblebees and baby blankets, jackets and hats. I'll post pics of those soon too... 🙈😆

Happy May Day everyone!
Can you believe it's May already? The days seem to be whizzing by way too quickly.
Anyway, here's an update on my first ever knitted project. I've completed the front and back panels of the jumper and now it's on to the sleeves.
I'm quite pleased with how it's looking so far... for my first attempt... 😆

The crochet class I'm teaching are picking up their new skills really quickly. It's lovely to see their confidence grow each week and I love seeing all the new projects they've completed at home.
Thankfully, some of the ladies are amazing knitters and have helped me with my knitting attempts.
They're a wonderful group and I look forward to seeing them every Wednesday.

I love learning new skills and this time it's knitting!
BaSiL Bear helped me choose a new yarn I've not tried before. Hedgerow chunky yarn, colour Conker, by It feels very soft and these colours are absolutely perfect for me.
I'll keep you updated with my progress. Fingers crossed it turns out OK.. 🤞🏻 Wish me luck!

This afternoon I was in the garden when I heard a strange scratching coming from behind the fence.
When I looked over, I saw a pigeon trapped between the two fence panels. I couldn't get to it so had to wait for Mr Bumblebee to help save the poor little bird.
He swiftly removed the fence panel while I carefully lifted the pigeon out and set it on the grass.

I hope it manages to survive but maybe the shock will be too much for it. I'm not sure what else I can do for it. Any ideas? Please let me know in the comments.

Belle has settled in to her new home very nicely and has become firm friends with the young lady of the house. They are quite inseparable!
She was so excited to learn that there was a baby bear living there too so Belle wanted to have a t-shirt made for her as well.
It was a lovely excuse to come and visit BaSiL at Bumblebee HQ again.

What plans do you have today?

I will be busy teaching some very lovely ladies to crochet. It's wonderful to see the progress they've made after just a couple of weeks. We have hats, scarves and blankets flying off their hooks!

While BaSiL Bear is off sunning himself we are busy, busy, busy!

Bumblebee HQ is undergoing a kitchen transformation which is wonderful but torture when we love to cook and bake together so instead of spending time in the kitchen, we are entertaining new friends in our cosy lounge.

BaSiL and Belle look quite chilled out together don't they?!

Belle has been specially created for a very lovely little lady who is also deaf.
Yellow is her favourite colour so of course her bear had to be a fabulous sunny shade of yellow.
Can you see her cute purple hearing aids? They match the font on her little t-shirt printed by . Thanks for that Katie!

I'm sure Belle and her new family will have lots of fun and adventures together.

Hello my lovelies, it's me, BaSiL Bear!

How are you all?
Here's a photo of me on my holiday a little while ago but can you guess where I was?
It's a small country in the middle of the Mediterranean and it is packed with ancient temples and beautiful coastal cliffs.
It was much warmer here than back in the UK. The sun was shining every day.

Have you ever travelled to another country and bumped into someone you know? They says it's a small world and I was so surprised to see a friend on holiday here too. It was great to see them and meet their family.
