I haven't posted anything for a while because I was a) recovering from my work over the summer, b) making stock for the Christmas Rush...which hasn't really materialised. I have subsequently opened an Etsy Shop, but ideally would like to drive more traffic to my "proper" website. Please take a moment to check out the Christmas Gift section...There are lots of ideas for last minute Christmas Gifts...and if you get your order in quick, the Post Office will be able to deliver in time for Santa to get the gift in his sack (my "Free Shipping" will be posted out 1st Class.

This is not my first woodworking project involving resin. I have created some storage tumblers/tealight holders from shards of wood, held together with resin and some bowls created similarly, but this is the first time I have created something of this nature for sale.

When I saw this "split" piece of Walnut I immediately had in mind to make a "river" board...Although traditionally "River" products have blue resin...so I thought why not try orange sparkly resin! ...and lo and behold this unique, one-off piece was "created". I am very pleased with it, and it has paved the way for more of the same coming soon.

I also love the figuring of the Walnut. I will be trying a "River" Tray shortly, made from Spalted Beech and probably with Sapele edging...I will have to wait and see what it looks like! I'm hoping this will prove to be a popular line (and means I get to spend many more happy hours at Surrey Timber selecting these beautiful pieces of timber.

I've seen the sign...Well not quite...I've made the sign would be more accurate. Finishing touches to the OUTSIDE of Sheddingham Palace...Prior to starting to shoot some videos of how I make the various items for sale, as well as an overview of the workshop, and a tour of Sheddingham Palace Formal Gardens...

The overall effect of the sign was improved by taking the photo in the evening, so the shadows can play across the different textures and heights of the letters...damn...in danger of sounding like some art critic there!

O.K. I've deleted the new account I've jsut created, in favour of adding Brooks Woodshop to my personal page! That seems to be the way Facebook want me to do it!
