A really lovely slow stitch session last week! Lovely company, fabulous venue, fantastic ideas. Its amazing what you can do with a few scraps and colourful thread. I love watching the way the pieces evolve.
Slow Stitching takes your mind on a different journey for a little while and at the same time teaches you the very basics of sewing.
Beautiful work ladies, I really enjoyed it ❤️

Take your time and let the stitches flow . Dont worry about the end product . There are no patterns to follow , there's no complicated embroidery ,just the relaxing movement of the needle and thread and the sensory loveliness of stitches built up on the fabric !

Leave your worries behind for a couple of hours and join me for some relaxing slow stitching on Saturday 24th October.
You dont have to be an expert, simple embroidery stitches are repeated to build up a beautiful effect. Frayed cottons and linens, pretty trims and colourful threads create a lovely stitched picture!

Kid's sewing lessons are always colourful, fun, interesting and surprising! Sometimes you require a solid plan and other times its good to see how things evolve..You can always be sure that lots of learning is happening no matter if there's chaos or fabric everywhere!
Its such a joy to see the things that the children create and to see their skills improve.

Im so lucky that I get to move around quite a bit with my sewing. I think its probably pretty important to have that change of scenery to be honest, especially if I get to be in lovely green spaces!
From workshops at Rugby Summer Sessions and Leamington Ecofest to summer lessons with my young students in Jephson Gardens . From teaching the Esther ladies in Leam to sewing lessons with home schoolers in Warwick ,plus one to ones in fabulous places like the Temperance Café .
Create is a fantastic venue where you can do all sorts of workshops with Ursula.
Temperance is a gorgeous café ,bar and music venue. I do try to work in the garden when I can too!

Ecofest was amazing! It was hot and it was busy and it was a delight to get so many people sewing. Some were beginners and some returning after a long break . Thanks to everyone who came along to stitch or just to chat . There were a few good conversations about fast fashion! The perfect month to hold the festival too..... The weather looks good for tomorrow so come along to the Leamington Ecofest in the Pumproom Gardens!
Lots of fab stalls, absolutely brilliant talks and great activities. I'll be there with my sewing drop-in where you can learn some basic stitches if you're keen to repair some of your own things. You can come and chat about ways to make your wardrobe more eco friendly or just to get some great sewing tips.
I always meet the loveliest people at Ecofest, with so many fabulous sewing stories! Sit down and relax with a needle and thread and enjoy the therapy that comes with it

Over the past couple of months I've had the pleasure of teaching some lovely ladies from Esther Project how to sew and improve their skills.
Friday mornings have been filled with chatter and learning and its been a delight to get to know these amazing women!
We've covered all sorts from basic handstitching to working a machine, from understanding fabrics to how to create useful items. We're almost at the end of the course but I hope that some of the ladies will keep on sewing! Its been great to watch their confidence grow ❤️

A few pics from Community Outreach/ SEND tent at the Art in The Park Festival. It was hot, it was busy and it was amazing. Loved seeing everyone and helping you to find your lanterns. We also had fun writing wishes on the fairy door 🧚‍♀️
I managed to skip over to the Glasshouse to watch my grandkids in their mini theatre production,what a bonus! Lots of people took advantage of our quiet space too ,a hidden gem ❤️
Another fantastic festival done ,well done .livingstonuk and the awesome team.
