✨ A Special Commission Piece ✨

This lovely antique oak stool was passed down to my friend from her grandma, making it a piece with both character and sentimental value. My aim was to refresh and modernise it while preserving the charm that makes it so special.

The stool was carefully stripped back and repainted in a soft off-white to brighten and refresh the base. The solid oak seat was then sanded to reveal the beautiful natural grain beneath, before being lightly paint washed to create a softer, more contemporary finish while still showcasing the wonderful texture and character of the wood.

To ensure lasting durability, the entire piece was finished with a protective wax, enhancing the grain and providing a hard-wearing finish for everyday use.

I love projects like this — helping well-loved pieces continue their journey and creating something that can be enjoyed for many more years to come.
