I am an independent Haberdashery, knitting yarn and craft shop in the heart of Leicester city centre. We have been trading here since 1967.

Sorry I am a little late posting this. I’m just having a little day off visiting my son at University in Bangor. Open tomorrow as usual at 10am. Currently having a really good breakfast in the Blue Sky Cafe Their vegan bowl is delicious. Sorry for any inconvenience 😕🙏🏻😊

I’ve suddenly got back into my crochet! I can only do simple things, but this square is made up of all triple crochet stitches and it’s so easy! I found the pattern on Lucy Attic24 This is the first of many more squares I think! Looks amazing in Stylecraft Highland Heathers Aran!

Please don’t look too closely at my crochet skills, I’m not great, but this new colour in Aurora chunky ‘Rich Jewels’ is absolutely gorgeous!

I cram as much gorgeous yarns and haberdashery as I can into my van every Thursday for my stall at Loughborough Market. Alas, the shop is closed but my stall has been a constant feature of Loughborough Market for 60 years next year! I love the fresh air and it’s a lovely market and well worth a visit!

Running a busy haberdashery and wool shop on your own is hard work. So sometimes it gets a little bit untidy. But I think the shop is looking great at the moment. Lots of new yarns in stock and more due soon, gifty bits for Christmas as well as the basics like thread and felt squares, elastic and fabric glue. Luckily I have my Ruby to keep me company at work though she does sleep most of the day!

This cute little mill is like the old knitting dollys, but much much faster. It’s easy to use and makes simple work of creating knitted tubes that can be used for a variety of different crafts! Includes all you need to get started! All you need is a Double Knit yarn and you’re off!

These are so cute! I’m making a long empty of red to write Button Boutique with! Oh and would the lovely customer who bought one today please check her box to make sure it’s all there, a part may be missing possibly! Totally my fault and I feel awful if it is missing. Either give me a ring or Whattsapp and I’ll pop it in the post or pop in and I’ll let you have it. I’m hoping it’s all there but just in case you may see this please check. X

As usual I’m off for the Bank Holiday Weekend with some friends. So I’ll be closed Saturday 29th August. Really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and I hope if you need any bank holiday haberdashery or yarn supplies you can pop in before 4:30pm today! Open again as usual, Tuesday 1st September. Happy Bank Holiday!!! 😊
