Irelands answer to Banksy 🧶

Since 2016, the Kildare Yarn Bombers have been stitching creativity, community, and colour into the streets of Newbridge.

What started as a small ICA project led by Annie Morris has grown into a vibrant, voluntary movement of crafters of all ages from 4 to 97 united by a love of crochet, connection, and giving back.

Their mission goes beyond making art. They work with the elderly, people with disabilities, and local charities, while championing sustainability through clothing swaps and secondhand yarn sales. Their colourful yarn installations brighten up public spaces during events like June Fest.

Whether you can crochet a masterpiece or just make a pom pom, everyone’s welcome. As Annie says, “If all you do is tie it to a tree, you’re a part of this group.”
