Lobi Goes Surfing 🦞

After spending the day on the beach trying to fit in, Lobi decided there was only one thing left to do…

SURFING! 🌊

He watched everyone else catching the waves and thought,
“How hard can it be?”

Well… quite hard, apparently! 😂

One big wave later, Lobi was hanging on for dear life, his sunglasses had gone flying and his claws were doing their very best to keep him upright!

But did Lobi give up?

Absolutely not!

He might not be the best surfer on the beach just yet… but he’s certainly having fun trying. ❤️🦞

And I have a feeling Lobi’s summer adventures are only just beginning…

Lobi is trying very hard to fit in on the beach this summer… 😎🏖️

He’s got his shades, his beach towel, his umbrella and even a fancy little drink. He certainly looks like he knows what he’s doing!

But Lobi is about to discover that being yourself is much more fun than trying to fit in. ❤️

This summer, Lobi is going to be getting up to all sorts of adventures, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Not every character in Wordwood takes centre stage. Some quietly watch from the trees, waiting to be discovered by curious little readers.

Foxgloves (Digitalis purpurea) are one of Britain’s most beautiful wildflowers, standing tall along woodland paths and hedgerows each summer. Their elegant, bell-shaped flowers are a favourite of bumblebees, offering an important source of nectar.

I wanted this piece to capture their quiet beauty, inspired by the timeless feel of vintage botanical journals and nature studies.🪻
