I still remember my primary school art teacher introducing us to printing with a humble potato.

Little did I know that decades later I would be carving out a career as a textile designer, printing fabrics by hand using beautiful wooden blocks, and sharing this wonderful craft with others.

It's funny how one small lesson can quietly shape your future.

These are a few moments from my recent block printing workshops. A special thank you to Victoria, who kindly filmed this while I was printing alongside her son at my South Asian Heritage Month Pop-Up.

So many people enjoyed trying block printing during the taster sessions, and seeing their excitement reminded me why I love teaching this craft.

I hosted my first (first of many InshaAllah) South Asian Heritage Month Pop-Up at my studio

Despite the heatwave, you decided to come and celebrate culture, color, community, and crafts.

Special thanks to and Cllr Daisy Richards, lovely ladies from my local mosque, and many more who surprised me

We had my homemade chicken biryani on Day 1, pakoray from Mobeens, chai and Henna art and bangle party

Day 2 I hosted a teaser of block printing, we had samosay and vegetable pasties from and more Shezan mango juice and more chai

Thank you so much for all who sent me well wishes it means a lot to me

We are already looking forward to the next one!

Ps: I launched my tiered dress, fans, and of course our hardbound diaries, a beautiful collaboration with my daughter
