I've been quiet on here lately due to being deep in design work for two large home renovations in Balham and Putney, and one smaller ground floor redecoration project in Chiswick. They are all embracing colour for their homes in a way that's really exciting for me!

One thing that fascinates me is how everyone has a different relationship with colour. My Balham clients loved the idea of a blue bedroom and my Putney clients asked for any other colour rather than blue for their bedroom!

Here's a blue bedroom I designed in Fulham a while back. I'm definitely in the blue bedroom camp but then again I love many, many colours for bedrooms 🩵💚💛🤎

Have a lovely weekend and I'll try to be better at posting next week!

This bedroom was part of a large renovation project which involved completely reconfiguring the layout of a large Victorian maisonette flat in Fulham. I still get a surprise when I remember that this bedroom was a kitchen.

We really had our work cut with this project. Much of the character had been stripped out of the property over the years, and reinstating plasterwork, suitable skirting, doors and other original style features was a really important of the job.

I found the beautiful Art Deco bedside tables in an auction house and the dressing table through an antiques dealer. Sourcing these unique items for my clients is really one of my favourite parts of my work.❤️❤️❤️

We are up to our ears at the moment in design work for an Edwardian house in Putney and a Victorian house in Balham. It's that really creative, exciting time where the spaces are being envisioned in ways that will make them unrecognisable in a few months time.

When I'm in this creative space, I literally dream about the projects all night long (or at least that's what it feels like) and wake up thinking of more possibilities and things to try out! It's also a very exciting time for the clients as we get nearer to work commencing. I will stay very closely involved, collaborating with the trades, carpet and curtain fitters, to ensure our precious vision is communicated and protected throughout the works.

Swipe to see our Queen's Park project, completed late last year, a series of gloomy spaces, devoid of character transformed into a warm, uplifting home. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Every client who contacts me about my consultancy service has a different need. They might have been through an unsatisfactory renovation and now realise that they want to reinstate more character and colour back into their home OR they might be about to emback on a renovation or extension and want me to review their plans and walkthrough the property with them.

I just love walking into a home and getting stuck into all the "problems'. A client emailed me last week to say that she felt so much lighter after I had left and that everything now felt so doable. It was really lovely to get that feedback ❤️

If you are in London, DM me here or send an email to [email protected] to arrange your home consultation with me ❤️

I'm delighted to have the kitchen in our East Dulwich project featured in Livingetc magazine. Thank you to for the write up. It's a small kitchen but utterly chaming and characterful, with every inch of space put to good use.

I love it when a new kitchen doesn't actually feel like a new kitchen. We sourced antiques and vintage items to add depth and soul and lovely natural materials which feel warm and gorgeous to touch.

This is a completely bespoke kitchen and window seat handmade by Scott King.

Our beautiful big Balham Victorian family home project has moved into the Detail Detail Phase. The Concept Designs have all been signed off, meaning that the overall look and feel of all the spaces has been agreed. Now it's time to specify every last colour, fabric, finish, item of furniture, lights and soft furnishings.

It's a labour intensive phase but so exciting, as the end result becomes more and more tangible for the clients.

We have put together the scope of work for the builder and will shortly be getting quotes and setting a start date!

I will stay closely involved throughout the construction phase with regular visits, collaborating with the trades to make sure that all work is carried out in line with the designs and that any decisions made along the way are carefully considered.

I am so excited to see the end results of this project. It's going to be really stunning! ❣️❣️❣️

Generally the first time I meet my clients in person is for a walking, talking consultation for a few hours around their house. This is always thoroughly enjoyable and engaging, and time whizzes by as we discuss the design directions they could take and all of the potential and possibilities that lie within their homes.

A good part of our focus will be on the original features of the property, or sadly sometimes, the lack thereof, and how and where to restore or reinstate them.

My clients don't want their house to look like a museum, but they have a love and respect for old houses and want to achieve a balance between restoration and renovation for their period properties 💫

I presented the Concept Designs to my lovely clients for each space in their STUNNING Victorian property in Balham yesterday.

This is an early phase of the design process where we establish an overall vision and a design direction, considering not only each space, but the overall vision for the home. We work towards creating a harmonious, cohesive colour pallette that flows from room to room. It's also so important that the client feels seen and heard and can see that I've listened very carefully to their wishes, desires and ideas.

The consultation was overall a resounding success and they were delighted with the samples, mood boards, sketches and the renders.

Renders are really just another step in very thoughful process. They are a tool we use to put the layouts and selected finishes, furniture, lights etc together so the clients can visualise how the space could look. As you can see I've given them three directions they could take with colour, all of which would work beautifully within the overall scheme.

I'm very much looking to showing you more behind the scenes update and progress on this project in the coming months 💫

This large Victorian house in South East London, had been through a rather unsympathetic renovation in previous years. We focussed on introducing character adding beautiful period features and finishes and layers of colours, lighting, pattern and textures which the clients really loved. We built on their collection of Mid-Century items of furniture and added lots of antique and new items to the mix to create a truly personal home for them.

We are currently very busy in the design phase of two whole home renovations and I'm very much looking forward to showing you the behind the scenes as the months go on. They are shaping up to be really stunning! ❣️
