Some more images from the last project I shared, showing the rest of the space that was transformed into a light, and functional kitchen, dining and lounge area. The colour palette was carried across the zones to create cohesion, using the warmer colours in the lounge area to create a serene space to relax and socialise.
Hope you like it!

This project was an absolute dream to work on. One of my favourite colour palettes, great clients and brilliant professionals to work with. The kitchen was designed with who were great to partner with all along the way. I loved this project because it was a balance of colour, function and detail. And as Charles Eames said “The details are not the details. They make the design.”

Generative AI
So, I’m not the expert on this so don’t want to wade in on a very complex conversation, but someone recently suggested I use ChatGPT to render a slightly complicated design I was working on.
What ensued was part awkward altercation with a machine, part friendly banter. But in short, I didn’t get the result I wanted. Nowhere near.
I definitely think there is a place for AI making work faster for designers, especially photo editing etc, but as my friend ChatGPT admits, I don’t think it will be taking our creative jobs any time soon…!

Hello! 👋
I recently experimented with a blend of deep burgundy, dark green, and off-black to create a cosy, inviting space, where every corner is thoughtfully highlighted against a soft neutral backdrop. These rich tones work together to evoke a sense of warmth and calm, while allowing each piece to shine. Perhaps you’ll also spot one of my favourite accent colours dotted around the space in various forms to bring cohesion…?
But the key to this lounge? Curating curiosities- selecting meaningful treasures that tell the story of a life, without overwhelming the space. It’s about avoiding clutter and embracing items that have personal significance, creating a space that’s eclectic yet serene. I believe that good home design should reflect the owner and their story, not feel clinical and characterless.
What do you think?

As spring FINALLY begins, I’m enjoying the colours that come alive in this room as the sun is shining. Childrens rooms give such a great opportunity to have a bit of fun with colour and pattern. In this room, most of the walls are in Little Greene Loft white, with painted details of Little Green Giallo and Verditer. To tie the scheme together and to light the quite large room well, I tried my hand at making my first light fitting, which was really fun to do. I am now trying to figure out the best way to make a table light in a similar style…. 🤔 Watch this space… but don’t hold your breath!
Enjoy the sunshine!! ☀️

I love it when a client looks to evoke a feeling or a place that is important to them in the design of their home and for this South East London project it was that of a Californian sunset, a place close to my clients hearts.

I created a palette of soft summer hues (Little Greene sunlight and Little Greene James), a nod to Hockney’s LA paintings, and grounded them with the deep green of the Californian redwood forests (Little Greene Dark Brunswick Green). The green was strategically placed to minimise the visual impact of the television in the space. The amazing centrepiece skylight was calling out to be the accent of the space, and was painted in Little Greene Orange Aurora.
A bespoke storage unit was designed to maximise storage for books and childrens’ toys, incorporating an upholstered nook, perfect for little ones to relax with a book. The unit was expertly crafted by and the upholstery perfectly made by - two of my favourites to work with.
Hope you enjoy the end result!
Have a great rest of your weekend,

How could I resist this beautiful bow at the pop up shop in Walthamstow today?! It’s handwoven and handmade and feels soooo luxurious. I wish I could have bought several as I have lots of places I’d like to hang it! Maybe there will be a succession of posts of me moving it around the house….!
The pop up ended today but you can LKT’s beautiful wares online. I’m starting to feel Christmassy now… ✨
