Pet owners can't have cut flowers.

That's the myth.

But if you’re a pet parent, you don’t have to miss out on beautiful blooms.

There is a whole range of gorgeous flowers that are perfectly pet-friendly, including: roses, sunflowers, snapdragons and gerberas.

It's always a good idea to check the specific flower before bringing it home, but you don't have to rule out fresh flowers entirely.

The Flower Food Myth: Does adding sugar to your vase really work?

You may have heard that adding a spoonful of sugar to your vase will keep your flowers fresher for longer… but it’s not quite that simple!

The truth: Sugar can provide food for cut flowers, but on its own it can also encourage bacteria to grow in the water, which can actually shorten the life of your blooms.

Our florist tip? Use proper flower food instead. It contains a carefully balanced mix of ingredients designed to nourish your flowers while helping keep the vase water cleaner.

And don’t forget the basics:
💐Re-cut those stems
💐 Change the water regularly
💐 Keep your vase clean
💐 Keep flowers away from direct heat and strong sunlight

So, sugar in the vase? A little more complicated than a sweet solution!
