So this is a typical day for me if I’m trying to trim a little bit of summer excess! about 1700 calories broken down as follows: high protein artichoke and Parmesan omelette for breakfast; tuna potato salad for lunch; Greek yoghurt with oats, chia and raspberries; beef patty with 3 veg; two cappuccinos; protein shake. With my normal level of activity this would represent a small deficit and I’d expect to lose half a kilo a week. Even when trying to drop, I never go without food. BTW this is about 128g protein; 90g carbs and 90g fat.

So, this is exactly what I do eat in a day - I’ve even shown you the macro breakdown - just over 1700Kcals - roughly 120...

So, this is exactly what I do eat in a day - I’ve even shown you the macro breakdown - just over 1700
Kcals - roughly 120g protein, 90g carbs and 90g fat - based on my normal activity levels this represents a small deficit as I want to trim off a few summer pounds. This is what I ate today: artichoke and Parmesan omelette for breakfast; tuna and potato salad for lunch; 2 cappuccinos; beef patty with three vegetables; Greek yoghurt with chia seeds, raspberries and oats. I use the Ultimate Performance London app to track what I’m eating when I want to drop a bit and it keeps me honest. Hope it helps!! # fat

My mum and me c1965. I look at this picture and it reminds me amongst many other things of what seems to have gone wrong with our understanding of what constitutes basic good health. There’s my mum, tiny waist and slim. At this point she was 36, had 2 kids, never went to the gym, ate three meals a day, never dieted, never restricted. Was she just ‘lucky’? No I don’t think so, because I know she was overweight as a much younger woman. I put it down to the following: she was always active - not formal exercise, but constant movement - shopping, cleaning etc. She cooked from scratch everyday. She didn’t buy ultra processed foods. She ate a little of everything she liked but avoided excess - Sundays always saw a Victoria Sponge on our table. She drank plain tap water. In other words, mum moved all the time, she cooked and ate whole foods that her body could process. She probably walked somewhere after meals because she had stuff to do (she never learned to drive). She didn’t drink much alcohol or consume huge amounts of refined sugar. She had a set bedtime routine. To her it was complete common sense. But somewhere down the line we humans complicated everything. By the way, she’s 93 now and still slim. sense

I set out to solve the problem of my own sweet tooth and ended up creating a brand . If YOU are battling the sugar monster, try - chocolate covered date balls which look and taste like a delicious sweet truffle but which have NO added sugars, are high in fibre, plant based, vegetarian, have no palm oil or artificial preservatives, are made of only 7 whole ingredients and are 70 kcals per chocolate covered ball. They are genuinely utterly delicious and genuinely better for you. The sweetness in them comes from the natural sugars of the dates. It took me a long time to develop these to the point where I was truly happy with the taste and texture and trust me, it is spectacular. I set out to solve a problem and ended up starting a new business at 63- but hey why not!! If you’d like to try LEKA LEKA - just go to www.alisoncork.com and you’ll find our mixed discovery box, and we’ll throw in a box of your choice for FREE! Enjoy.
