Get a generator change over switch installed beside your customer unit or inside your white nie meter cubicle box with a blue inlet plug and lead long enough on standby To plug into a generator. Small generator will run the essential things like oil or gas heating system lighting and small power. Large generator will run the hole house.
Anyone with an air source heat pump system will require a very large generator.
Replace the electrical hobs to gas or half gas half electric you will always have means to cook and boil water.
One more thing stay form solar and renewable energy sources they done work in an emergency’s situations. It’s electricity all the way it has been and always will be⚡️.
