A little nautiQa project update!
Obviously, quite a few of you have been following the progress of the MB-4H and D-Class 1/12th scale model kits. These are projects I’ve been thoroughly enjoying, although they’re proving to be *seriously* challenging at times! 😂
But I keep getting asked, “How are you getting on with the…?” so I thought it was about time I gave you all a little update on some of the other projects on the go.
Tamar Class art prints
I'm hoping to have the Tamar finished and ready to introduce during October, or early November at the latest. We're getting there!
Atlantic 85 Mk 4
Yes, I know, the boat isn't even in service yet! 😂
However, a couple of people have already asked whether I plan to update my Atlantic 85 prints to include the Mk 4. As you can see, I've made a start, but I'm going to park this one until a couple of boats have actually been placed on station. It makes sense to have a little more information to work with before taking it any further.
44ft Waveney Class
Honestly, I'm a little embarrassed to admit that this one hasn't progressed much in the last three years. But I'm hoping to change that!
I'd really like to get this project moving again, with the aim of having it finished in November or early December.
37ft Oakley Class
Oh dear. This one's been a bit of a disaster! 😂
I'd actually made some more progress, but somewhere along the way, the files containing the different wheelhouse options seem to have gone AWOL. I'm now back to working with the bare hull, so it's a case of picking things back up and rebuilding some of that progress.
I'm aiming for early 2027 for this one.
Avon Sea Rider
A few people have suggested that I look at producing some more off-the-shelf RIB designs, including the SR4 and SR5.4. It's certainly something worth exploring, so I'll be investigating the possibilities in the new year.
And finally, something a little different...
I'd REALLY, REALLY, REALLY love to take on some new projects featuring vessels outside the RNLI world!
Pilot boats, tugs, fishing vessels, workboats or even a nice pleasure boat. There are so many interesting vessels out there, and I'd love to broaden the range of artwork and models I'm working on.
If there's a particular vessel, you'd love to see me tackle, let me know in the comments. And if you've got a vessel in mind that you'd like me to draw or develop as a model, I'm always open to commissions, too.
Thanks to everyone who's been following these projects, asking questions and encouraging me along the way. It really does mean a lot, and I hope you'll enjoy seeing these take shape over the coming months! ❤️
