The back panel is finished! I’m playing around with trims and details and about to set up the arm panel embroidery. I guess I was unrealistic to get this finished for Christmas, especially since I keep changing the design but it’s all I can think about!

Sunday mood. Wrapping up orders and starting to draft the pattern for a new project unfolding. And then this indulgence.. Roasted almond, Amaretto cream and salted caramel winter meringues.
There was a time in the summer I thought i’d be sick if I even looked at another pavlova, but hey, they say time heals all wounds 😂

My fern, fungi and frog napkins on organic cotton have just gone out of stock and i’m thinking to order another batch to be printed before Christmas. If you would like a set please DM me or you can pre-order on the website so I have an idea of numbers. This design is digitised from one of my original hand drawn watercolour patterns. Three of my favourite things.

At last after a whole summer of slow production the new little batch of quilts are up in the shop, and after 48hrs two of the design sizes are almost sold out already! So if you see one that is for you, do not hesitate!! I’m so happy with these beauties, you’re gonna love them!

It’s been stormy and wet in Dorset so i’ve been mucking about in the kitchen using a new shortcrust pastry technique I like a lot from . It’s completely backwards to how I would normally make pastry but the results are just as good and it’s much less messy.
I found this lovely award winning (the best in the whole wooorld!) Bristol Amalfi Lemon marmalade from and I have gorgeous creamy local proper raw milk from Tom at plus gorgeous eggs from Father Christmas Alan up the road, so I’ve blind baked some little cases and filled them with a lemon zest and bayleaf custard, topped with that very zingy marmalade. Thanks to for the fab marm btw
I rolled some chopped crystallised ginger into the left over pastry and baked that as a biscuit too, which I should have photographed but I ate it immediately and it was delicious 😂 so I might make the pastry that way next time.
It’s so good to be pottering in the kitchen again. This is what wild woolly coastal Autumn is for.

YES! This is the lovely Mr Mangilal finishing hemming the last quilt! The latest little collection has taken almost the whole summer to create; one printing block at a time, one stitch at a time. With a bit of luck this gorgeous new edition will arrive in about a week and will be up in the shop as soon as I get them photographed. One of a kind Caï Fahrel. Hurray!
