Back on Jehane's Golden Thread after nearly a year off.

Thread theme, Celestial Dreams, with the prompt "Starlore"

This depiction is using Nordic mythology as the inspiration having spent the last 2 weeks working away in the Nordics, I thought it would be a bit of fun. The image shows an interpretation of the Milky Way, or Helveg - the road of the dead leading to the underworld, as a backdrop to The World Tree.

This man, at 100! What can I say.

Such a joy to remember rainy afternoons when I couldn't play outside, watching him on repeat. Growing up with that passion and wonder for wildlife that he instilled in so many of us.

All the books, DVDs and CDs I still listen to and watch.

His voice that has changed so much over the decades but is still so familiar and comforting.

The knowledge he has shared, words of inspiration, astonishment, gratitude for our natural world and concern for our future, and the future of the planet.

My absolute, all-time, number one hero. Happy 100th birthday Sir David Attenborough.

A couple of my new designs I'll have with me at tomorrow's Handmade Malvern arts and craft fair to coincide with the Malvern well-dressing theme of "birds". 12:00-16:00 at Park View Community Room by the Bilberry cafe in Malvern.
These are part of my A-Z of animals collection which along with greeting cards I've also made into stickers and hand-embellished bookmarks.
