How we perceive the world is unique to each of us 🧠
We often jump to conclusions based on limited information, emotions, or poor mental health—causing reactions that, in turn, shape how others respond. This cycle can blur perceptions on both sides 🤯
Only with a clear mind and a 💡 moment can we reflect and recognise this. But reaching that clarity can take days, months, or even years of processing. I also found that giving myself more time to rest was a crucial part of this process, helping me to heal and gain new perspectives.
Recently, I’ve been working through some difficult trauma, triggered by a mistake I made during a period of overwhelm and overload. It’s lead me to some deep reflections.
I started Rose & Black 15 years ago when I moved 200 miles away to keep my family safe after domestic abuse. Through my decorating journey, I’ve woven in my personal path of self-improvement, health, and healing—because I believe painting and decorating can be about more than just aesthetics. It can also support our well-being.
There are so many ways to do this, and bringing nature into our spaces can have a huge impact. Nature helps our minds feel calm, and being in natural environments has been shown to improve mental health.
I’ll be sharing more insights, both from my journey and from what I’ve learned, to help others improve their health, communicate better, and—of course—decorate!
Looking forward to sharing more with you soon 💟🪄
